Fair Lawn NJ ,a New Jersey Transit train struck and killed a pedestrian in Fair Lawn on Thursday evening. According to a NJ Transit spokesperson , Bergen County Line train 1171 out of Hoboken hit the pedestrian just west of the Radburn Station in the borough at around 6:52 p.m.
The Bergen Line Train No. 1171 left Hoboken at 6:23 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Suffern at 7:22 p.m.
From the scene : An individual said to have been an adult male was struck and killed by a NJ Transit train at the Fair Lawn Avenue, Fair Lawn rail crossing early Thursday evening, 08/31. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. No injuries were reported to either the crew or passengers of the train involved. An extensive investigation closed Fair Lawn Avenue between Plaza Road and Pollitt Drive indefinitely .
NJ transit Police are currently investigating .
