Hackensack NJ, North Jersey has lost one of its most iconic neon landmarks. The Coach House Diner, a staple of the Route 4 landscape in Hackensack for nearly four decades, has officially and permanently closed its doors.

For generations of Bergen County residents, the Coach House wasn’t just a restaurant; it was a 24/7 sanctuary for post-prom milkshakes, late-night disco fries, and Sunday morning pancakes. As of April 16, 2026, the lights have gone dark on this local institution.
