Ridgewood NJ , 03/10/2016: Ridgewood PD units responded in mass on Thursday evening, 03/10, to a reported fight at a group home for young girls. One (1) person was reportedly stabbed during the altercation. Glen Rock PD assisted at the scene. An ambulance transported an individual to Bergen Regional Medical Center.

Ridgewood Police Summoned to Altercation on Ethelbert Place

Ridgewood NJ, One (1) adult male was taken into custody by Ridgewood PD officers following an altercation at a 2-family home on Ethelbert Place during which one (1) tenant of the house held a knife to the throat of another tenant.

The victim and alleged perpetrator are not related. The individual taken into custody was transported to Ridgewood PD headquarters for processing.All defendants are considered innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

South Pleasant Resident Stabbed in Altercation Over Women

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police report ,the on April 29 at approximately 9pm, the Ridgewood Police Department was called to a house on S. Pleasant Avenue for a report of a stabbing. A 19-year-old victim was found to be bleeding from the shoulder.
The police were able to determine that a disagreement occurred with a known person and the disagreement became an altercation and resulted in the victim being stabbed with a 4” folding knife.
Police arrested 20-year-old Matthew Luis from Mahwah at the scene. He has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a deadly weapon and Possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. The accused has been remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of posting the $65,000 bail.
