Ridgewood NJ, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that the iPhone 14 will have satellite hardware, but support for satellite communications depends on agreements between Apple and operators. Satellite connectivity will only be able to be used for emergency texting and voice services. Apple is most likely to partner with Globalstar for the feature. T-Mobile and SpaceX recently announced a plan to provide a satellite-to-cellular service in 2023.

The extreme sports model will measure almost two inches diagonally and have a display resolution of about 410 pixels by 502 pixels. It will use a stronger metal casing and have a more shatter-resistant screen. The watch will have a larger battery and improved tracking metrics.

Private Access Tokens can prove that an HTTP request is coming from a human by recognizing if a client device is following typical user patterns. Signed tokens are sent to servers in a multi-step process that doesn’t involve the server knowing anything about the device or user. Using Private Access Tokens requires a device running iOS 16 or macOS Ventura. Apple is working to make Private Access Tokens a web standard.

The subsidiary is licensed to provide lending services and will remain separate from Apple’s main business. It is the first time that Apple will take on financial responsibilities like credit checks and lending. The company will run soft credit checks when customers apply for its Pay Later service. It will not extend additional credit to users who miss a payment, although missed payments won’t count against users’ overall credit score.

Paterson Resident Tracks Stolen iPhone to a home in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ, on Wednesday May 18th at 8:59 PM, a Paterson resident, who had tracked their stolen iPhone to a home on the 300 block of Boulevard requested police assistance. At the same time this call was received, the resident also phoned police about an unknown person ringing the doorbell. The Paterson man had not only tracked his phone to the Glen Rock address, but also produced video surveillance footage from Home Depot in Paterson purportedly identifying the individual who stole the phone. Glen Rock Officers interviewed the resident and were subsequently able to recover the iPhone. The victim was satisfied with recovering their phone and was advised of their right to sign complaints for theft with the Paterson Municipal Court if they so desired.

DuckDuckGo Testing its Privacy-centric Mac browser

The browser’s Smarter Encryption feature will help users use HTTPS more often. It can automatically clear cookie consent pop ups while rejecting as much tracking as possible. The browser is currently only available on Mac in an invite-only beta.
