The New Jersey Choral Society, based in Ridgewood, will be holding auditions for their 2021-2022 season

Ridgewood NJ, New Jersey Choral Society will be hosting auditions through July and August for anybody interested in joining our chorus. This fall, NJCS will practice in-person for a full concert season. We will take all necessary precautions at rehearsal and during our performances as recommended by the Center for Diseases and Control (CDC) and implemented by our music professionals. Practices are Tuesday nights from 7:30pm to 10pm.

Ridgewood NJ, Are you interested in adding your voice to Pro Arte Chorale?  Founded in 1964, the Pro Arte Chorale is one of the Northeast’s most prominent choral organizations, and is committed to enriching the lives of its members, its audience and the broader community by exploring many musical traditions in a variety of venues, presenting performances of the highest artistic quality.  This season’s concert programs include the works of Gilbert & Sullivan, Haydn, Vivaldi and more!

The Chorale is conducted by Maestro Steven Fox, a Grammy Award Nominee for Best Choral Performance 2017.  The acclaimed and highly talented Ms. Janet Montgomery is the accompanist and assistant conductor.

Auditions are held by appointment only. If you are interested in performing with Pro Arte, please email info@proartechorale.org or call the office at 201-497-8400 to schedule an audition. Rehearsals are Monday evenings starting at 7:30 and begin in September.

Ridgewood NJ, The New Jersey Choral Society is holding auditions for its youth choruses, treble and SATB, for students in grades 6-12. Auditions will be held Monday, June 19 and August 28 from 4-6 pm at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, 169 Fairmount Road, Ridgewood, NJ. Treble voices are accepted from grades 6-12 and SATB voices from grades 9-12. Audition requirements, including a memorized solo, and registration details are available on the New Jersey Choral Society website at www.njcs.org under “About”. Interested students, parents and educators can contact Festival Youth Chorus Director, Noelle Dachis, at youthchoir@njcs.org for more information.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for young choral singers to perform with the New Jersey Choral Society and Maestro Eric Dale Knapp, and a rare experience to include on college applications, especially for students heading into a music study. Students selected for the chorus are expected to attend weekly rehearsals, held at St. Elizabeth’s Church on Monday evenings, and all performances. The Festival Youth Chorus will be singing in at least three performances during the NJCS 2017-2018 season.

Established in 1980, the New Jersey Choral Society is one of the state’s most prestigious choral groups, well-known for presenting outstanding and unique programs. Under the direction of Eric Dale Knapp, NJCS performs three major concerts annually in Bergen and Essex counties. They have performed at Carnegie Hall and the White House and have toured internationally in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, China, Australia, England, France and Italy.

Since 1947, Jamboree has presented an original musical revue raising funds for need-based college scholarships for graduating RHS seniors” and how, over $1.2million raised and distributed to hundreds of worthy applicants.
