Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco announces locations for the next two weeks of the Bergen County Regional Community Testing Program which is available to all county residents thanks to a partnership between the County of Bergen and Bergen New Bridge Medical Center. All testing locations this fall will offer COVID-19 saliva tests and flu vaccinations.

Orchard School Soil Remediation Update

Dear Ridgewood School Community,

Yesterday, I received a Letter of Health Consultation (LHC) from the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) addressing health concerns related to possible exposure from contaminated fill at the Orchard Elementary School. As you may recall, we had been in consultation with the NJDOH to schedule a public meeting; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a public meeting is no longer an option. Ridgewood’s NJSLA-Science scores far surpass statewide results

Ridgewood NJ, at Monday night Ridgewood school board meeting Ms. Poelstra gave a presentation on the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment-Science (NJSLA-Science) that was taken last spring by students in grades 5, 8, and 11. She explained changes to the New Jersey science standards and assessment, noting that the first scored test was taken in 2018-19. Ms. Poelstra then reviewed a comparison of Ridgewood’s Spring 2019 NJSLA administrations to state percentages. It is notable that Ridgewood’s scores far surpass the statewide results, and in comparison across similar districts, Ridgewood’s results are strong.To view the presentation, click here.
