Amazon Launches Drone Delivery Trials

Ridgewood NJ, watch out porch pirates , Amazon has launched drone delivery trials in select locations in California and Texas. Customers in these areas will be able to order items to be delivered by drone in the usual way. The service has been in development since 2013. Amazon will launch a new aircraft design in 2024. Rules governing commercial drone flights are still strict, but Amazon is working to persuade regulators that its drones are capable of safe and reliable operation.

Amazon to Launch Drone Deliveries

Ridgewood NJ, Amazon’s Prime Air drone delivery service will start later this year, pending FAA permission. Lockeford, California will be among the first locations in the US to access the service. The drones will be able to carry five pounds of payload at speeds of up to 50 miles an hour. They are able to detect static and moving objects and automatically change course to safely avoid them.

Ridgewood NJ,  drone package or even pizza delivery may be right around the corner . The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) today announced final rules for Unmanned Aircraft (UA), commonly known as drones. The new rules will require Remote Identification (Remote ID) of drones and allow operators of small drones to fly over people and at night under certain conditions. These rules come at a time when drones represent the fastest-growing segment in the entire transportation sector – with currently over 1.7 million drone registrations and 203,000 FAA-certificated remote pilots.
