Glen Rock NJ, A brand new Toyota RAV4 was totaled as a result of a Wednesday morning, 07/15, rollover crash in the 700 block of Propect Streets, Glen Rock. The vehicle’s adult female driver refused medical aid at the scene. A flatbed tow truck righted and removed the vehicle from the crash site. PSE&G was summoned to check on a severely damaged utility pole involved in the crash. Glen Rock Police, Glen Rock Fire Department, and Glen Rock EMS responded to the incident.

Glen Rock Fire Responds to Morning Vehicle Fire

Glen Rock NJ, A fully involved vehicle fire on Pamrapo Court West, Glen Rock was extinguished by Glen Rock Fire Department early Tuesday morning, 07/14. No injuries were reported in the conflagration. The charred Ford Explorer SUV was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Glen Rock Police and Fair Lawn Fire Department also responded to the incident.

Tree Tumbles on Single Family Home in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ, no injuries were reported by the occupants of a single family home located in the 300 block of Ackerman Avenue, Glen Rock after a municipally owned tree crashed into it on Thursday afternoon, 04/09. Glen Rock Police and Glen Rock Fire Department responded to the incident. The fallen tree appeared to have caused minimal structural damage.

Glen Rock Fire Brings In Multiple Towns to Assist

Glen Rock NJ, At 1834 hours on Monday, the Glen Rock Fire Department was dispatched to a report of smoke on the second floor of a residence on the Boulevard. A second alarm was transmitted in route by 830 upon reports by GRPD of a heavy smoke condition. The main fire area was in the attic space of the home. Crews used a combination of interior and exterior attacks to bring the fire under control. Thanks to all mutual aid towns, including Hawthorne, Fair Lawn, Ridgewood, Midland Park, Paramus, Waldwick, Wyckoff and Elmwood Park. Also thanks to the GRVAC and Glen Rock Police  for on scene assistance as well as Northwest and Central Bergen Mutual Aid coordinators and safety officers.

Single Family Home Sustains Significant Damage in Glen Rock Fire

Glen Rock NJ, A defective/overheated bathroom exhaust fan was reportedly the cause of a multiple alarm house fire on Oxford Place in Glen Rock, Friday morning, 12/27. Glen Rock Fire Department was assisted in extinguishing the conflagration by fire personnel from numerous neighboring municipalities. At least one (1) firefighter was reported to have been injured fighting the blaze. The single family home sustained extensive fire, smoke, and water damage. Ridgewood Fire Department  “A” Shift responded mutual aid to Glen Rock for the working attic fire. Glen Rock Police and Ridgewood Police also assisted .

Glen Rock Fire Department has an extremely busy day

Glen Rock NJ, Yesterday the Glen Rock Fire Department had an extremely busy day. After the hazmat call in the morning the Glen Rock Fire Department responded to 4 additional calls throughout the day. At 5:00pm multiple calls came in for an odor of gas around Borough Hall and Valley road. The cause was determined to be a disabled bus. At 7:46 pm a fire alarm came in for a residence on Ashon Place. At 11:28 PM members responded and extinguished a minor engine compartment fire on Route 208. Ending the day members responded to a residence on Yardley Court for a broken water pipe.

UPDATE: Early Morning Crash Leaves Two Seriously Injured

Glen Rock NJ, Two (2) individuals were seriously injured in a head on motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Rock Road, Glen Rock in the early morning hours of Saturday, 07/13. Both victims were transported by ambulances to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson. Lincoln Avenue was closed between Rock Road and Van Winkle Avenue, Hawthorne for an extended period during a post accident investigation and clean up process. Glen Rock Police was assisted by Hawthorne Police and Ridgewood Police at the scene. A crash related vehicle fire was extinguished by Glen Rock Fire; Hawthorne FD also aided in fire suppression efforts. Glen Rock EMS and and hospital based paramedic teams also responded to the incident. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation Crime Scene Unit helped collected visual and physical evidence at the scene. Both vehicles involved in the crash, a Chevrolet Trailblazer and a 4-door Nissan Sedan, were removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck.

UPDATE :Man Struck and Killed by Hoboken Bound NJT Train

Glen Rock NJ, An adult male was struck and killed by a Hoboken bound New Jersey Transit passenger train at the Main Line Train Station in Glen Rock on Saturday afternoon, 07/13. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital. Motor vehicle traffic was diverted away from New Jersey Transit’s Main Line’s Rock Road, Glen Rock grade level crossing during the subsequent police investigation, which was conducted by officers of the New Jersey Transit Police Department. Glen Rock Police, Glen Rock Fire, and Glen Rock EMS also responded to the incident, as did a representative of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office.

Gas Leak Forces Home Evacuation in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ, on Wednesday both the Glen Rock Fire Department and Glen Rock Police Department responded to an active gas leak in the area of Main Street and Argyle Road.

Main Street and Argyle Road were temporally shut down and homes on Argyle Road and portions of Main Street and Southboro Lane were evacuated . PSE&G stopped the leak around 11 a.m.

Glen Rock NJ,  Shortly after 9:30 PM on Thursday, 05/16, Glen Rock Police and Glen Rock Fire Department responded to a 911 telephone call reporting that a U-Haul rental truck had struck a gas station building at 390 South Maple Avenue, Glen Rock. First arriving units quickly determined that no one was injured in the mishap, and that damage to the gas station itself was very minimal. However, the truck’s drive shaft was severely damaged rendering the vehicle completely unmovable. A heavy duty tow truck was used extricate the rental vehicle from its post crash resting position and remove it from the scene. No word as to whether the driver would be responsible for towing charges and damages incurred to the vehicle.

Glen Rock NJ, Flames completely engulfed a van used to transport school children just moments after all of the children and their driver had been safely evacuated to a nearby strip mall on Thursday afternoon, 01/24. The raging fire was extinguished by members of Fair Lawn Fire Department Fire Companies 2 & 4, Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue, Bergen County Hazmat, Glen Rock Police , Glen Rock Fire Department, and Fair Lawn Fire Department also responded to the incident which was located in the parking lot of an office building at 266 Harristown Road, Glen Rock.

Glen Rock NJ,A Thursday evening, 12/06, basement fire in a single family home located at 562 South Maple Avenue, Glen Rock, injured at least one (1) firefighter and required the services of several neighboring fire departments to extinguish. Glen Rock Fire Department was assisted by personnel from Ridgewood Fire Department  , Fair Lawn Fire Department , and Hawthorne Fire Department at the scene. Glen Rock Police and Glen Rock EMS also responded. The cause and exact origin of the blaze is currently under investigation.

Chemical Spill Reported at Glen Rock Police Headquarters

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Fire Department and Hawthorne Fire Department  personnel rushed to Glen Rock Police Department headquarters, 1 Harding Plaza, Glen Rock on Thursday afternoon, 10/11, in response to a possible chemical spill within the building. Firefighters dressed in protective gear entered the building and removed at least two (2) containers of an unknown substance(s) found in a mechanical room. Glen Rock Police Lieutenant Frank Riggio stated that there were no injuries reported in the incident. He also said that it appeared as if one or more of the containers found by firefighters may have been leaking, causing the odor which triggered a phone call for Fire Department assistance.

Glen Rock Pizzeria “unsafe for human occupancy” after building Slammed by Car

Glen Rock NJ , A fast moving 4-door Mercedes sedan mounted a curb in Glen Rock’s main business district and slammed into the front of Francesca’s Brick Oven Pizza located at 234 Rock Road early Wednesday afternoon, 10/03. Personnel from Glen Rock Police, Glen Rock Fire Department, Fair Lawn Fire Department, and Hackensack University Medical Center rushed to aid Mercedes’ adult male driver, and an adult male pedestrian who was grazed by the vehicle after it mounted the sidewalk. Both victims refused ambulance transportation. No one inside the business was injured in the incident. The vehicle was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. A building inspector tagged the damaged pizzeria as “unsafe for human occupancy.”
