Ridgewood NJ,the Ridgewood blog has procured information on the League of Women Voters Village of Ridgewood Candidates night on April 20th at the Village Hall.

Please take these events serious only a few votes in 2012 launched the Village into this disastrous mess.

Final voting registration for the May 10th Municipal Election is April 19th.  To register to vote, individuals may register in the Village Clerk’s office from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM or in the Ridgewood Library Lobby on April 19th from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

Please get informed and vote responsible as many have now learned the consequences can be dire to yourself and your family.

The Women Voters Village of Ridgewood Candidates night format for the evening will include welcome from the president, flag salute, and an introduction of our esteemed moderator and the candidates. The moderator will then take over.

1. During the recent budget proceedings, Ridgewood Water outlined a six year, approximately 40 million dollar capital plan to
update the facility which serves not only Ridgewood but also Glen Rock, Midland Park and Wyckoff. Should the town invest the money
to update the facility or should we consider selling the utility and why?

2. We are looking at potential new development in Ridgewood , in the downtown area and the Central Business District (garage and
multi family housing at several locations). What measures would you propose to minimize disruption to traffic flow, local businesses and home owners and to ensure pedestrian safety?

3. Regarding the Town Garage location on Franklin Avenue and the adjacent municipal lots, the Department of Environmental Protection has cited these properties for remediation due to underground fuel tanks that are leaking diesel and hydraulic fuel into
the surrounding ground water. There has been talk of charging the cleanup to a potential developer or acquiring the garage site by
eminent domain and doing it ourselves. How do we address this problem in the most expedient manner so that no further
contamination occurs and serves the best interest of the village?

LWV of Ridgewood Candidates Night: Wednesday Night, April 20th 7:30PM – 9:30 PM The Village Hall Courtroom

Ridgewood NJ, the League of Women Voters (LWV ) will host a Candidates night for the Village Council Candidates . There are Six candidates for 3 open seats on the Village Council. This is an opportunity to meet the candidates and hear their views.

Each candidate will receive 3 questions in advance along with the format.  The moderator will be a League trained, seasoned moderator residing in another town to ensure impartiality.

Reader asks can we prevent our town from becoming the new Northern New Jersey hotbed of progressive political posturing.

Will village council members Knudsen and Sedon attend the Sunshine Law – Open Public Meetings presentation by the League of Women Voters? More importantly, if they wished to do so, M’s Knudsen and Sedon should declare their intention to attend in their official capacity the ‘civility roundtable’ discussions that have become the mayor’s fetish, and thereby force him to adhere to all of the Sunshine Act formalities in advance of and in the wake of each such meeting. In this way the ambiguous, morphing nature of this ongoing series of quasi-public meetings seemingly steeped in issues of great public import will be eliminated, the participation and influence and of non-resident speakers (such as the arguably irrelevant ‘Englewood Councilwoman’ Lynne Algrant, ‘North Jersey Media Group Publisher and President’ Stephen Borg, and ‘Public Affairs Executive and Jersey City Official’ Robert Sommer) will be appropriately limited or regulated, and as a salutary side-effect, we will prevent our town from becoming the new Northern New Jersey hotbed of progressive political posturing.

Walter Luers, Esq., President of the New Jersey Foundation for Open Government (NJFOG) will explain the details of the Open Public Meetings Act, as well as the Open Public Records Act. NJFOG is a well-respected authority on the Sunshine Law, and Mr. Luers was recognized as one of ten “Lawyers of the Year” for his work on the Open Public Records Act.

When: Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 7:00 PM Where: Ridgewood Village Hall, 131 N. Maple Ave, Ridgewood NJ, Senior Center Lounge, First Floor There will be ample time for questions after the presentation. All are welcome, and refreshments will be served. You must be a real detective to come up with your big conspiracy theory. There were lots of cards with questions and the league women pick out a handful to ask. 

So first knudson had to know the question would be selected and asked and then she had to know albano would lie so reynolds could come to the podium and ask albano to be clear on what hes saying and then knudson had to know albano would lie again. ah ha! i mean ah ha! you are probably fbi (fool bein ignorant)
albano could have just told the truth. oh wait. no. he had to lie becuase that was the setup so reynolds could catch him in the lie. ah ha.
i don’t think anyone had to setup albano to make him look bad. he did a good job of that himself. knudson was the best last night of the three and sedon was next. i don’t think either of them had to participated in your big conspiracy.how old is albano’s grandmother again?
