Fair Lawn NJ, the iconic half-century old Nabisco plant on Route 208 in Fair Lawn, that often filled the air with the smell of fresh-baked cookies, will shut its doors for good. The North American division of Nabisco’s parent company, Mondelēz International, made waves in November when the prospect of the plant closing caused many to worry. Now despite efforts by local officials and even Governor Phil Murphy, the well-known plant will close by the late summer.

While nothing is set in stone the Plant owner Mondelēz International is considering closing. Laurie Guzzinati, a senior director of corporate and government affairs in North America for Mondelēz , confirmed to NorthJersey.com that on Tuesday, November 12th, Mondelēz met with unions and employees across the state to discuss options being weighed.
