Fair Lawn NJ, both occupants of a late model 4-door BMW sedan declined medical evaluation following an early Sunday morning, 05/05, crash in which their vehicle slammed head on into a utility pole at the intersection of Route 208 northbound and Harristown Road in Glen Rock. Glen Rock Police handled the accident investigation while Fair Lawn Police provided traffic control. A flatbed tow truck removed the BMW from the scene.

Fair Lawn NJ, three (3) small children, including a five (5) month old, and two (2) adults all escaped injury in an early Monday afternoon, 04/15, crash on Route 208 in Fair Lawn.
Fair Lawn NJ, it took several hours for towing company operators from two (2) separate companies to right a fully loaded concrete mixer that rolled over while entering Route 208 southbound at Fair Lawn Avenue, Fair Lawn on Thursday morning, 04/04. The truck’s driver sustained an arm injury in the mishap, and was transported to a local hospital by an ambulance. Fair Lawn Police , Fair Lawn Fire Department, Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue, and NJDOT personnel were all at the scene of the incident. Route 208 southbound was intermittently closed while emergency responders worked.
Fair Lawn NJ, a horrific single-vehicle crash near 21-00 Route 208 in Fair Lawn claimed a Porsche Boxer driver’s life in the early evening of Thanksgiving Day, 11/23. The vehicle struck a utility pole while traveling southbound on Route 208 just after 5:30 PM. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Route 208 southbound was closed at Harristown Road in Glen Rock for several hours following the tragedy. Fair Lawn Police was assisted by several County of Bergen agencies with the crash investigation. Glen Rock Police units provided supplemental traffic control. Fair Lawn Fire Companies #1 and #2 responded to the incident along with the Fair Lawn Rescue Squad and Fair Lawn EMS.
Glen Rock NJ, the driver of a tractor trailer allegedly disregarded a stop sign while exiting Route 208 southbound at Harristown Road, Glen Rock on Friday evening, 11/03, and collided with a sedan carrying at least three (3) occupants. Glen Rock EMS reported three (3) injuries at the scene, with two (2) victims requiring ambulance transportation to Hackensack University Center’s main campus. The wrecked sedan was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Fair Lawn Police assisted Glen Rock Police with traffic control.
Glen Rock NJ, The driver of an older model Volkswagen Jetta was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center after sustaining injuries in a Thursday afternoon, 08/31, collision on Route 208 northbound at Harristown Road, Glen Rock. The demolished vehicle was towed from the scene. Glen Rock Police and Glen Rock EMS responded to the incident.
Fair Lawn NJ, a 4-door Toyota Camry driving southbound on Route 208 near Virginia Drive in Fair Lawn, careened off of the highway late Saturday night, 08/26, and crashed into the basement of a nearby garden apartment complex. The vehicle’s driver could not be located following the crash. Occupants of the struck building were asked to evacuate until the vehicle could be safely removed from the structure; structural damage was reported to have been significant. Evacuated residents standing outside reported observing water leaking in the basement. A technician from PSE&G’s Gas Division was on scene inspecting natural gas lines in the basement. No injuries to residents were reported. Paramus Police assisted Fair Lawn Police with traffic and crowd control. Fair Lawn FD Company #3 and Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue also responded, along with an ambulance (for standby) from The Valley Hospital. K-9 units from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office were also dispatched to assist.
UPDATE: The vehicle’s driver was taken into custody by Fair Lawn Police at a residence in Waldwick approximately two (2) hours after the crash occurred.
Glen Rock NJ, after extensive dialogue with local communities, and businesses, Greek Development has made the decision not to implode the remaining portion of the Nabisco Tower. They will utilize an alternative method of demolition that does not involve the use of any explosives. Ownership is proceeding to undertake the additional time and expense to ensure the well-being and peace of mind of the surrounding residents.
Wyckoff NJ, the Department of Transportation’s chosen contractor will be replacing the culvert and guide rail on Route 208 North and South over an 0.63 mile stretch in the Township of Wyckoff. There will be a shoulder closure with a construction barrier curb in both directions while work is being performed.
This project is currently scheduled for a target start date of April 28, 2023, which is subject to change due to weather and logistics.
Glen Rock NJ, a Nissan Rogue crashed into a utility pole on Route 208 northbound at Harristown Road in Glen Rock late Saturday night, 03/25. The vehicle’s driver and a passenger were transported to The Valley Hospital by a Glen Rock EMS ambulance. Injuries were reported to be non life threatening in nature. Glen Rock Police investigated the crash. Fair Lawn Police also responded to the incident. A flatbed tow truck removed the heavily damaged SUV from the scene. No damage was apparent to the utility pole.

Wyckoff NJ, a medical episode was the apparent reason that the 90+ year old male driver of a 4-door sedan lost control of his vehicle, veered off of the traveled roadway, and crashed through a fence on Route 208 southbound in Wyckoff early Thursday afternoon, 05/12. The vehicle came to rest in the backyard of a home in the 300 block of William Way, Wyckoff. A Wyckoff EMS ambulance transported the driver to a nearby hospital for treatment. No accident related external injuries were visible on the driver as EMTs and paramedics loaded him into a waiting ambulance. Wyckoff Police also responded to the incident. The sedan was towed from the scene. Property damage appeared to have been confined to a fence and some shrubbery. No other injuries reported .
Fair Lawn NJ, a state grand jury has voted not to file any criminal charges at the conclusion of its deliberations regarding the death of a boy, age 12, who was struck and killed by a police vehicle driven by Officer Michael Sansevere of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office on Route 208 in Fair Lawn on April 14, 2019.
