NJ Transit Police Make Mainline Drug Bust

Ridgewood NJ, New Jersey Transit Police seize thousands of dollars in illegal drugs, and arrest distributor.

The New Jersey Transit Police have arrested Jimmy Romero, 40, of Haledon, N.J. for multiple drug-related offenses and seized approximately $4,000 worth of heroin and crack cocaine.

During the investigation, Transit Police District #3 officers Brian Lee, Christina Hicks, Sergeant Kristen Bivona and Efrain Pena-Pérez observed Romero distributing drugs from a vehicle at Paterson Station and at various parts throughout the City of Paterson. With the assistance of NJTPD District #2 and District #3 Anti-Crime Units, Mr. Romero was arrested without incident. The execution of search warrants resulted in the seizure of Mr. Romero’s vehicle, hundreds of wax folds of heroin, bags of crack cocaine and currency.

Mr. Romero was charged with multiple drug-related offenses including possession and distribution. He was lodged at the Passaic County Jail. Charges are mere accusations and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.

NJ Transit Police Pick Up Murder Suspect at Newark Penn Station

Newark NJ, NJ Transit Police locate a suspect wanted for attempted murder/armed robbery.

A suspect facing charges for attempted murder and more who was wanted by Harrison Police was located by New Jersey Transit Police Officers. On Monday, October 7th, Officer Hector Martinez spotted the suspect entering Newark Penn Station and together with Officer Alexander Maillard, quickly stopped and detained him pending the arrival of Harrison Police and the FBI. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody and charged by Harrison Police.

Secaucus NJ, The New Jersey Transit Police have arrested Kidada Ferguson, 19, of Manhattan, N.Y. at the Frank R. Lautenberg Secaucus Junction Train Station.

On Wednesday, September 25th, at 12:48 a.m. Officer Victor Ortiz responded to a report of an unruly passenger on board train #6201. During the investigation, Kidada Ferguson struck Officer Ortiz in the face, spit on him and assaulted a train crew member.

NJ Transit Police Capture Armed Man At Newark Penn Station

Newark NJ, NJ Transit Police officers located and captured a man armed with a handgun, stun gun and knife.

The New Jersey Transit Police have arrested Qudamah Hamilton, 34, of Brooklyn NY for charges including possession of a stolen firearm and resisting arrest.

On Thursday April 18th, at approximately 1200 p.m. New Jersey Transit Police Officer David Osterhoudt relayed radio information from Newark PD describing Hamilton being wanted for aggravated assault, domestic violence. Hamilton was reported to be armed and heading towards Newark Penn Station via light rail vehicle. NJTPD Officer Todd Hardifer managed to spot Hamilton on board a moving light rail vehicle headed to Penn Station. Officer Hardifer radioed ahead, providing Hamilton’s description and car number.

Newark NJ, An NJ Transit Police officer took this photo after patrolling Branch Brook Park Station during the week. One of the great things about being New Jersey Transit Police Officers is that our area of patrol spans the entire state. No matter where we go, there’s always something interesting to see.

Here’s a little known fact: New Jersey has more cherry trees than Washington D.C. Every spring, residents and visitors alike can see the largest cherry blossom collection in the United States.

Hey Village council – – you are really doing a nice job maintaining the charm of the Village.
Between the wild construction, parking garages built to satisfy the whims of developers, restaurant owners and other oligarchs, the concrete slabs, VIP’s who are more equal than others, and now, the guard towers, it reminds me of Yugoslavia under Tito. Where are we putting the barbed wire?

Wednesday Evening Hoboken Bound NJT Train Collides with SUV in Elmwood Park

Elmwood Park NJ, NJ Transit train #1277, traveling westbound from Hoboken, collided with a white colored SUV at the Midland Avenue crossing in Elmwood Park on Wednesday evening, 07/25. No injuries were reported in the mishap. The crash halted all rail traffic on the Bergen Line for over one (1) hour. A flatbed tow truck removed the SUV, which was partially wedged under the train, from the crossing. Elmwood Park Police, Saddle Brook Police, and NJ Transit Police responded to the incident.

Ho Ho Kus NJ, Numerous summonses were issued to the driver and registered owner of a tractor trailer that got stuck on the Glenwood Road, Ridgewood hill leading up from the Ho-Ho-Kus train station on Wednesday afternoon, 05/16. Police officers from Ho-Ho-Kus Police, Ridgewood Police, and NJ Transit Police were dispatched to the incident. The truck was finally freed from its predicament when a heavy duty tow truck winched it up the hill. Motor vehicle traffic was rerouted until the roadway was clear.

Glen Rock NJ, An SUV driver was transported by Glen Rock EMS to The Valley Hospital after sustaining non life threatening injuries in a crash involving a NJ Transit train on Rock Road in Glen Rock early Sunday evening, 11/05. The driver of an SUV hit a commuter train .

Glen Rock Police, Fire and NJ Transit Police responded to the incident. The vehicle was removed by a flat bed tow truck. NJ Transit Police is handling the investigation. The incident occurred at NJ Transit’s Bergen Line grade crossing.

Glen Rock NJ, For the second time in less than one (1) week, a brush fire caused the temporary suspension of train traffic on NJ Transit’s Bergen County Line through Glen Rock. The Friday afternoon, 10/27, brush fire was contained to a small area and extinguished by Glen Rock firefighters using water cans, shovels, and rakes. The fire was spotted by a NJ Transit Maintenance of Way employee working near 536 Broad Street, Glen Rock. No injuries were reported. Glen Rock Police, NJ Transit Police, and Hawthorne Fire Department also responded.
