Shelter-in-Place Triggered at Paramus High School Following Social Media Post

The Ridgewood Varsity Volleyball Team Wins the Silver Bracket Championship at the Jersey Classic Tournament

Ridgewood NJ, Congratulations to the Varsity Volleyball team! The Maroons won the Silver Bracket Championship at the Jersey Classic Tournament this past weekend. The Jersey Classic was hosted by Paramus High School with 20 teams participating .

The Paramus Fire and Paramus Police Departments Quickly responded to Small Paramus High School Fire

Paramus NJ, the Paramus Police report that at 1:16 PM there was a small fire at Paramus High School that was contained to a lighting fixture in a hallway behind the auditorium. The fire alarm was activated and students were evacuated. The fire was quickly extinguished by High School staff members. The Paramus Fire Department and Paramus Police Department quickly responded. Students were returned to their classrooms a short time later. There were no injuries or issues.

Paramus High School Cross Country Runners Hit by Vehicle

Paramus NJ,  according to Paramus Police a driver struck two Paramus High School cross country runners knocking them to the ground and fled the scene. The vehicle was described as a red SUV  . The collision happened at around 4:30pm at the intersection of Haase Avenue and Spring Valley Road .  The runners returned to Paramus High School and recounted the incident to the school principal

The incident is under investigation by Paramus police’s traffic bureau. Anyone with information should call the Paramus Police Department at

Paramus NJ , The Paramus Police Department assisted the Paramus Public Schools with lock down drills at our schools this week. Please have discussions with your family about the importance of these drills. Your children can also teach you how to handle emergencies in public places with what they learn from school drills. Pictured are the police and security officers that conducted today’s drill at Paramus High School.
