Trenton NJ, Senator Declan O’Scanlon highlighted the delayed and failed tax relief in the FY 2023 State Budget that Governor Phil Murphy signed, including a payroll tax increase that takes effect tomorrow, ANCHOR rebates that won’t be delivered until 2023, and child tax credits that won’t help parents until 2024, and tax bracket creep that remains unaddressed.

Not a Single Democratic Legislator Has Signed Petition to Stop Governor Murphy’s Payroll Tax Increase Next Month

Trenton NJ, Senator Michael Testa (R-1) said that nearly two weeks after a petition was sent to their offices, not a single Democrat in the New Jersey Legislature has signed on to an effort to convene a special legislative session to prevent an upcoming payroll tax increase on employers, repay debt, and restore stability to the state’s Unemployment Insurance (UI) Fund.
