Ridgewood Takes State Baseball Title!

Ridgewood NJ,  Ridgewood, one of most successful High Schools in a variety of sports earned its very first-ever state baseball title. The Maroons baseball team won the first state championship in program history by defeating Eastern Regional, 2-1,in the NJSIAA Group 4 final at Veterans Park in Hamilton on Saturday, June 8, 2019.

Senior Sam Favieri started the scoring with an RBI sac fly and finished the game by pitching a perfect seventh inning, for the  Maroons . Both Maroon runs scored on sacrifice flies. Favieri drove in David Kleiman, who led off the game with a single. Then later in the drama-filled sixth inning
Anthony Stephan drove in pinch runner Dan Boucher toad the go a head run. Boucher ran for catcher Brian Skettini, who rolled an infield single between the mound and first, then went first-to-third on the pitcher’s throwing error.
