The scheme goes this way: individuals posing as O&R employees call unsuspecting customers and threaten them with the immediate shut off of their electric service if they don’t pay phony O&R bills with Green Dot or other prepaid debit cards.

Saddle River Nj, at 01:45 this morning, the Saddle River Fire Dept. was requested to a home on E Saddle River Rd. for a reported garage fire. Saddle River Police Department units were on patrol, and located a garage on fire. Saddle River Police Department was able to use two fire extinguishers to knock down the fire, but they advised there was still fire in the walls. Chief 1130 arrived on scene to find a 2 story garage, occupied as a residence with smoke pushing from the open garage door at which time he requested the 2nd alarm be dispatched. Asst. Chief 1140 arrived on scene and assumed operations as Engine 1131 (OIC 1170) arrived, taking the driveway and preparing for fire attack. Crews located a minor fire behind the wall, which was quickly extinguished. Once the fire was out, the incoming 2nd alarm was canceled, and our assignment was held with Engine 1131 and Ladder 1141.

Thank you to our mutual aid for responding, and excellent job to the police officers that were able to knock the fire down. It is always important to remember to test your smoke detectors, and ensure they are working properly. Smoke detectors save lives.

Saddle River NJ, Ridgewood Business Owners and Saddle River Power Couple , Dr. Brooke Rezvani, a cosmetic dentist and her husband Dr. Fred Rezvani, OB-GYN from Saddle River hosted over 200 guests in their lavish home in Saddle River (that by the way is for sale for little under $10 million after several price reductions) in the spirit of giving back. A newly formed 501(c)(3) organization called Saddle River Art Council exceeded all expectations last weekend. Sold out concert by Eric Genuis, an award-wining pianist, composer, and inspirational speaker was a smashing success by all standards. Kudos to ALL involved and to the quests who generously supported this newest Saddle River organization. According to The Wall Street Journal the Rezvani purchased the property for $2.5 million in 2003. The original structure was demolished and the current structure was erected according to Brooke Rezvani. The first attempt to sell the house was undertaken by Sharon Kurtz of Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty. The asking price back in 2012 was $19 million. The declining Home prices experienced in Upper and Saddle River area caused the Rezvanis to cut the asking price almost in half from the original listing.  More about this unprecedented declining real estate trend in 07458 one of the most affluent zip codes in the United States in the upcoming book by Derek Michalski titled: “How to destroy a vibrant NJ community in just 15 months”. TRENTON NJ, More virtue signaling from the Murphy Administration , Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal and Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Commissioner Catherine R. McCabe announced today that the State has joined a motion in federal court seeking to block drilling-related seismic testing activity and fight to prevent offshore drilling in New Jersey .

Where exactly was the NJDEP during the 14 months that the Toll Brothers owned Apple Ridge site leached arsenic into Pleasant Brook and Saddle River  ?  We failed to notice one press release from the NJ Attorney General and the NJDEP only responded after the run off from the site was featured on CBS News and NorthJersey.com .

Next time someone want to raise your tax to save the environment remind them of Apple Ridge and the destruction of Bergen County water ways.

Reader says ,”Mayor of Saddle River has no interest in protecting our (Drinking)wells”

DRK2

“I live along the River in Saddle River and have been complaining to our Mayor and Administrator about this for over 1 year now. Al Kurpis the Mayor of Saddle River has no interest in protecting our wells. He has done nothing to help protect the residents of Saddle River’s who live along the river, He actually told Upper Saddle River Residents he was too busy with the Town Election in 2018 to get involved, to reach out after June and to date has done nothing to keep the residents water safe in our town. In fact in the last few years he was working on a plan to sell our Water to Suez…Crazy Idea that was, thank goodness we had a few council members who saw the potential impact of that on our town. The DEP actually permitted this project allowing them to pump the contaminated water into the Pleasant Brook which flows into The Saddle River…Someone at the DEP needs their heads examined. “

Public Health Concerns Continue to be Raised Over Arsenic Runoff From Toll Brothers Site in Mahwah, Upper Saddle River and Saddle River

Derek Michalski of GREENUSR  and the Staff of the Ridgewood blog

Mahwah NJ, Mahwah Environmental Commission and its members were apprised over the weekend by Derek Michalski of the situation in USR and ongoing concerns regarding alleged arsenic and lead pollution. Also they were provided with new aerial surveillance video documenting that Toll Brothers is using underground and above ground pumps to dewater “colloidal clay” directly into Pleasant Brook. After full year of Stop Work Order one might think the situation would get better not worse. However USR aquifer is still being destroyed in front of our eyes and the NJ residents who live along the path of the Pleasant Brook are clearly at risk. According to a local physician “the unfortunate reality is that we won’t see real evidence of arsenic issues for 20 years. The time is now to insure the health of those at risk. If this is not done, it is truly a failure of government to perform its primary role in society”.
