Ramsey  NJ, New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced a shoulder closure on Route 17 with daytime lane closures as a concrete repair project begins in Ramsey, Bergen County. Beginning at 9 a.m., Monday, February 3, NJDOT’s contractor, IEW Construction Group, will close the shoulder on Route 17 in both directions for concrete pier cap repairs to the Spring Street overpass near the Ramsey/Route 17 NJTRANSIT station.

This closure is anticipated to remain in place for approximately one month. The left lane will be closed in both directions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday. Two lanes of traffic will remain open in each direction during these daytime closures. Motorists are advised to use caution and slow down in the work area. The work is part of a larger $19 million state-funded maintenance project to repair and upgrade roadways in various locations in North Jersey. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NJDOT_info or on the NJDOT Facebook page.
