Ridgewoood NJ,Rep Scott Garrett R-NJ 5th District ,voted NO on the Obama Admin , seemingly suicidal Nuke Deal with Iran .Garret made his strongest statement yet  on the Administrations latest foreign Policy fiasco .

The somberness of the 14th anniversary of 9/11 ,Garrett commented that , “We will never forget those we lost. We will never forget those who ran into danger to help their fellow man and woman. We will never forget that evil forces still conspire to destroy our very way of life. And we will never forget those who sacrifice everything to defend our freedom.”

Garrett adressed the Iran Nuke deal vote specifically saying , “Today I voted against this terrible Iran nuclear deal. If enacted, this deal will give Iran sanctions relief and a path to obtaining a nuclear weapon while jeopardizing the security of the United States and its allies. It will allow Iran to generate weapons grade nuclear materials in 15 years, possess intercontinental ballistic missiles in eight years, and receive a multi-billion dollar financial windfall in sanctions relief to fund their nuclear program.

As a member of the special committee that implemented sanctions on Iran, I understand the severity of this situation. The Obama Administration failed the American people, it failed our allies around the world, and it failed future generations that will live in a more dangerous world with a nuclear-armed Iran. This fight isn’t over. I will continue to do everything in my power to keep nuclear weapons out of the hands of known terrorists”

THE RECORD

TEANECK — Rep. Scott Garrett told more than 250 people gathered Monday night for a town hall meeting at Congregation Bnai Yeshurun that he will continue his efforts to block the Iran nuclear arms deal, saying it would be detrimental to the security of both the United States and Israel.

He said that the deal was “woefully short” of President Obama’s promises and that “we essentially will be starting a countdown for Iran to have nuclear weapons” in the future. Garrett, a Republican who represents portions of Bergen, Passaic, Sussex and Warren counties, said he hoped enough Democrats would join Republicans to block the deal, but added that he did not expect that to happen.

The meeting echoed portions of a multifaceted national debate, with a large coalition of organizations planning the Stop Iran Rally in Times Square on Wednesday to oppose the agreement while peace groups and others have been arguing in its favor. Iranians also have not been in complete agreement, with hundreds protesting the agreement in Tehran over the weekend.

Congressional Republicans, including Garrett, have been uniformly against it. However, they would need a two-thirds majority in Congress to prevent the agreement from being finalized. Garrett said he voted against that procedure when it was established with bipartisan support this year, adding, “It puts the Constitution on its head.”

Rabbi Steven Pruzansky of Bnai Yeshurun said the agreement placed the nation “on the verge of a historic capitulation.” He added that “Obama’s America is on a collision course with Israel.”

Bolton calls Iran deal ‘unprecedented’ surrender
March 14, 2015, 11:18 am
By Mark Hensch

Former United Nations Ambassador John Bolton said Saturday that President Obama is negotiating “an unprecedented act of surrender” with Iran in discussions over its nuclear weapons program.

“This deal is fundamentally flawed,” Bolton said at the South Carolina National Security Action Summit in West Columbia, S.C. “There really is no deal I’d trust Iran with. It is a regime determined to have nuclear weapons and this deal will give it to them.”

The Obama administration is hoping Iran will slow or stop its nuclear armaments research in exchange for removing economic sanctions. Britain, China, France, Germany and Russia are aiding U.S. efforts to bargain with Iran. The two sides will resume talks in Lausanne, Switzerland, next week.

Controversy erupted over an open letterRepublicans sent Iran’s leadership Monday. It vowed Congress can void any deal it finds unsatisfying and was signed by 47 GOP senators.
