Upper Saddle River NJ, no injuries were reported in connection with a Tuesday morning, 05/31, collision involving two (2) tractor trailers and a Toyota RAV4 on Route 17 southbound in Upper Saddle River. One (1) of the tractor trailers involved jackknifed across two (2) lanes of the roadway. A large diesel fuel spill occurred when a saddle tank on the jackknifed truck ruptured.
All motor vehicle traffic was diverted from the southbound highway at Lake Street in Ramsey while emergency response teams worked at the scene. Separate heavy duty tow trucks and a tow company operated tractor removed the tractors and trailers from the scene. The Toyota was driven away on its own power.
Upper Saddle River Police, Upper Saddle River Fire, Upper Saddle River EMS, Mahwah Fire, Ramsey Rescue, Bergen County Hazmat, and NJDOT responded to the incident.
