Driver Trapped After High Winds Knock Down Tree in Upper Saddle River

Upper saddle River NJ, the Upper Saddle River Fire Department swiftly responded to Weiss Road following reports of a motor vehicle accident involving a fallen tree and entrapment. The incident occurred when a tree toppled onto a vehicle traveling east on Weiss Road, causing power lines to collapse onto the vehicle and trapping the driver inside. Teams from both the Upper Saddle River Fire Department and Mahwah Fire Department Rescue 1 collaborated to extricate the driver safely, once the power to the downed lines was secured. Additional support was provided by the Upper Saddle River Fire Department, Saddle River Fire Department, Upper Saddle River EMS, and Hatzola EMS.

No Injuries Reported in Early Morning Jackknifed Tractor Trailer on Route 17 in Upper Saddle River

Upper Saddle River NJ, no injuries were reported in connection with a Tuesday morning, 05/31, collision involving two (2) tractor trailers and a Toyota RAV4 on Route 17 southbound in Upper Saddle River. One (1) of the tractor trailers involved jackknifed across two (2) lanes of the roadway. A large diesel fuel spill occurred when a saddle tank on the jackknifed truck ruptured.

Mayhem at the Interstate Shopping Center in Ramsey

Ramsey NJ, Mayhem of sorts on Tuesday afternoon, 03/06, at the Interstate Shopping Center in Ramsey after a 4-door sedan struck an exterior support column in front of Five Below, striking a passing vehicle in the process, then mounted a curb and wiped out a traffic control sign. A parked tow truck called by police to remove the wrecked sedan was hit by another vehicle. Ramsey Police and Upper Saddle River EMS responded to the incident. All drivers and passengers refused medical aid. At least one (1) vehicle was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. An additional tow truck was observed responding to the area to evaluate another vehicle involved in the crash. Damage to the shopping center structure appeared to have been cosmetic in nature only.
