Auditions – ATNY’s Inaugural NJ Musical, “MATILDA”

Ridgewood NJ, MAGGOTS! Actors Technique NY is “crossing the pond” into NJ for their next spectacular production with the amazing and intense Tony award-winning musical, “MATILDA”! It’s one of the most spectacular musicals ever – and it’s being produced by a team of Broadway veterans in a NJ Theatre for the first time!
Actors Technique NY is following its stunning string of NYC successes in their renowned Musical Theatre Program with their first NJ full musical, which will include all the most creative elements from Broadway: Inventive staging, intense choreography, stacked vocals, and true dramatic scene-work. This is no “Jr.” production! Broadway Producers are bringing in professionals from around the NYC theatre circuit to create a stunning and powerful version of this musical mega-hit.
Virtual Auditions: 3 Virtual Day Options (Different Times Each Day, Please Check!). Please prepare 32 bars of a broadway song. Have headshot/resume ready to put in chat if requested. Cold Reads/Dance at callbacks only. Below are virtual audition days. If you can’t make any of these days or the callback, let us know. We will look at submitted tapes; however, these will be considered after auditions have been completed.

Rehearsals will include all the elements of the Broadway process – non-pandering Direction, Choreography, and Music at the highest level, as well as targeted theatre games & exercises, character analysis, and improvisations – not to mention it all culminating with a multi-performance run in front of a live NJ audience – which make this simply the most advanced and intensive Broadway-prep program ever!
If you’ve been part of any ATNY Full Length Broadway Showcase Production, there’s one thing you know: Through strategic staging and vocal assignments, everyone is fully showcased. There are no small roles!
Rehearsals Begin: Sunday, October 2nd, Noon-4:00pm, HeArt in Motion, Ridgewood, NJ. We will have stagnated twice a week rehearsals, come when called. Sunday Rehearsals + 2nd rehearsal day determined by director/cast, at time convenient for all. Actors will not have to be at both many times; rather, as called; however, sometimes both for choreography.
If cast, Registration Fee: $950 lead roles / $795 ensemble roles. ATNY will send out rehearsal conflict sheets for those cast. Payment options available by request. Deposits required to secure role. Further Questions, please call us, 917.763.1777.
After being the first in NYC to produce MATILDA following its Broadway run, for which it garnered critical acclaim at the Alliance for Resident Theatres, ATNY then made history (and won a Patent) with the first ever online full productions of major musicals – “HomeSchool of Rock”, “Newsies”, and “13” – all performed 100% live every night. Following that, they produced HAIRSPRAY in the Fall at the premiere venue The Vineyard Theatre, and SCHOOL OF ROCK at the Cullum Theatre in midtown Manhattan this past Spring.
