Oradell Police Arrest Fleeing Suspect in Bank Fraud Transaction

Oradell NJ, according to the Oradell Police on 11/21/19 the Oradell Police Department was notified of a fraudulent transaction at the Chase Bank on Kinderkamack Road. Responding officers made contact with a suspect who was attempting to transfer $14,000 from a customer’s account to another account. After officers were provided fraudulent documentation the suspect was placed under arrest.

Shortly after, Sgt. Gangemi located a suspicious vehicle on Oradell Ave believed to be waiting for the suspect inside the bank. The vehicle was occupied by two males who were uncooperative. The passenger of the vehicle fled across Oradell Ave in the direction of Oradell Public School. Sgt. Gangemi and PO Costa gave chase while PO Liguori remained with the driver and requested assistance from surrounding agencies. Officers from Paramus, Emerson, Haworth and River Edge assisted with setting up a perimeter.

After an extensive search, the fleeing suspect was located inside a resident’s shed. Chief Wicker, Lt Zdanowicz, PO Costa and Paramus PO Lombardo attempted to apprehend the suspect who was actively resisting arrest. After a brief struggle the suspect was apprehended. All three individuals were placed under arrest, processed and transported to Bergen County Jail.
