Palisades Park, NJ – A local daycare teacher is facing serious legal consequences following an investigation into an incident involving a juvenile at a Palisades Park childcare facility.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella confirmed the arrest of Seunghee Nam, 44, of Englewood, NJ. The charges stem from an alleged assault that resulted in “significant bodily injury” to a child under her
care.
Details of the Investigation
The investigation began on Sunday, March 22, 2026, when the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) alerted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. The report detailed a
past assault involving a juvenile at a daycare center located in Palisades Park.
According to detectives from the Prosecutor’s Office and the Palisades Park Police Department, the incident occurred on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Authorities allege that Nam, while acting as a teacher at the
facility, assaulted and endangered the juvenile.
Legal Charges and Court Status
On March 23, 2026, Seunghee Nam was taken into custody in Englewood. She has been hit with the following charges:
Second-Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child (N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(2))
Third-Degree Aggravated Assault (N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(7))
Following her arrest, Nam was remanded to the Bergen County Jail. After her initial appearance in Bergen County Superior Court, she was
released pending future legal proceedings.
