Paramus Issues “Crime Alert” after Rash of Overnight Parked Vehicles Ransacked

Paramus NJ, Paramus Police has issued the following “Crime Alert”: Recently during the overnight hours several unlocked vehicles have been entered by unknown subjects and ransacked while parked in their driveways In the Paramus / Ridgewood area. Last night an unlocked vehicle was stolen from the South Paramus Road area. It is believed the owner left the key fob in the car. Please assist the Paramus Police by:
1. Lock your cars
2. Do not leave the key fob in the car
3. Report suspicious persons and cars immediately via 911
4. Do not leave valuables in your car.

  1. In related news a car thief died while a stolen car down Route 17. He laughed himself to death at the stupidity of people leaving keys in their cars.

  2. We have a no parking rule on the streets at night..its like a ghost town
    and should be easier to police the drug addicts and losers who are looking forward to the VOR concrete muni garage as a center for their Expanded drug dealing, Car stripping and crimes against commuters.

  4. Insurance companies should cease to reimburse for losses from an unlocked car. They should also refuse to pay for any loss of a car left with the keys in it. As long as individuals suffer no loss from their deliberate actions and are constantly “made whole”, they won’t bother to do anything.
