Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood blog has been tracking users of ParkMobile . The current Ridgewood blog poll is showing :
Do you use ParkMobile?
Yes 44.23%
No 55.77%
Historically Ridgewood has always been a bit slow at adopting new technology ,but we are not sure what to think about park mobile, PJ Blogger is no a user ,but many friends are.
Use it all the time. Very convenient and I don’t have to keep change in the car.
The entire thing is beyond ludicrous and embarrassingly elite. I have kept quarters in the ash tray and dimes in a little plastic box in the car for decades. Also $1 coins for slightly less long. I buy rolls of each at the bank when the supply starts to diminish–maybe once a year. A penny used to buy 12 minutes for a quick purchase or pickup, and I had those, too, but no longer.
I cannot imagine why this is seen as too hard or why anybody would pay 35 cents for the privilege of feeding full price to a meter. Fiddling with a phone takes the same few seconds.
I will NEVER use Park Mobile
.
It has nothing to do with “being too hard” or “slow to adopt”
.
Let’s also not forget that parking should be FREE in the CBD just like it is in other more welcoming towns…. but that’s another story.
.
I find this so pathetically Ridgewood that you morons would dick around with a phone for 5 minutes and pay 35 cents extra for something you SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE. How fricking stupid could you people possibly be??? Lemmings! Fools!
For those of you banging your head against a wall saying parking should be free – do you just park outside the CBD and walk or pay for the parking tickets? Or maybe you just Uber to town to save the extra $0.35? Or maybe you pay your Ridgewood taxes and boycot the CBD altogether to save that $0.35? Do tell!!
I ran out of change so I had to used the app when I went to pick up dinner.
If I had Change the 20 minutes would have been 25 cents. This park mobile thing dinged me 65 cents. I won’t use it again and I’ll try to avoid shopping here. I’d like to know what the total meter net revenue is to the town.
Total revenue minus salary, vehicles, cost of meters less stolen coins .
Retail is a dying business and it’s easier to go to a mall , have more choices, and park for free.
I use the Glen Rock or Hohokus post offices now, and do my discretionary spending while there.
I do not use Park Mobil EVER and I will never park in the damn garage. Never. I use quarters in the meter when I go to town. And yes, I go to town every day.
Ditto, I will never use the garage; I will never use Park Mobile, and the few times I visit the CBD, I park on Union Street; for shoe repair, or paint shop, or post office; or book store, or pharmacy to buy a product; for prescription drugs I use Stop & Shop. They are great.
Do tell?
Ok I will.
Why the fuck would I want to live in Ridgewood?
@do tell… Do us a favor and stay in waldwick,,,,, even if you ever win the lottery so you can afford to move off the couch in your mommies basement

.
Neither.
I don’t shop in RW unless they have free parking
I don’t bank in RW unless they have free parking
I don’t eat in RW unless they have free parking
I don’t utilize the CBD in RW anymore.
.
I used to, but not anymore… and I’ve been here for over three decades.
