Hawthorne NJ, The driver of a Nissan pick up truck was uninjured after accidentally backing down an embankment into a creek at the Hawthorne Car Wash 1112 Goffle Road, Hawthorne on Saturday afternoon, 02/08. A flatbed tow truck winched the muddy vehicle out of its predicament. Hawthorne Police responded to the incident. No word as to whether the pick up was going to be driven through the wash, or removed from the scene by the tow tuck due to crash related damage.
An employee of the car wash accidentally left the truck in Reverse while sending it into the car wash. The driver of the truck was inside the building at the time, waiting for his truck.
PLEASE CORRECT THIS!! An EMPLOYEE of the car wash accidentally left the truck in REVERSE while preparing it for the car wash, the OWNER of the truck was inside the building at the time waiting for his truck to come out. Thanks, you were at the site, why didn’t you ask what happened?
Semantics. Whomever was the last person in the truck was the driver. The article clearly says “driver,” not “owner.” Take a chill pill Gail.
