Picture this – What would a Village without people look like?

Ridgewood NJ, more insanity from Ridgewood Councilmember Siobhan Winograd.

Despite a consensus from everyone, and we mean EVERYONE, that great residents are what makes Ridgewood the absolute best place to live, work, and/or play, a “committee” headed by Ms. Winograd decided that photographs with identifiable humans will not be considered for posting on the Village’s revamped web site (coming soon). Our staff says such a decision is positively insane. A photo is always enhanced by the presence of an individual. Any renowned photographer will tell you so.
Councilmember Winograd cited the following reasons for the “committee’s” decision:
  • Identifiable people might move out of Ridgewood, which would make a photo “irrelevant.” What?
  • It would be hard to maintain content if visibly recognized people were allowed. How so?
  • Objections voiced by parents.
  • “When people submit photos, we have a way of getting back?” Huh? What does this even mean?
To further our staff’s position that including photos with people would serve to promote Ridgewood as a great place to live, work, and/or play, take a look at the official websites of the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus and the Borough Westwood:
Ridgewood is all about great people; let’s not exclude them from being included on the Village’s new website. Please send your “human inclusive” photos taken in Ridgewood to the email address noted on the attached flyer.
Thanks in advance for your help.

  1. When will she just shut up?

    1. Open mouth, insert foot.

  2. Siobhan is the gift that keeps on giving. God help us.

  3. The way to avoid problems is to ask everyone identifiable in a photo to sign a release. There are standard forms available.

    1. True.

But it would be far more work(and time, and money) to do so. Easier and cheaper to just not have people in your photo.

Or do y’all think the village has money and time to spare??

Find another teapot for this here tempest.

      1. Then you would just have a bunch of photos with blanked out faces and the only thing you could recognize would be the RECALL PAUL sign.

      2. It wouldn’t cost anything. Photographers do this all the time.

    2. Releases not required if photos are taken in a public place because the photos are not being used for commercial purposes.

    3. Good luck tracking down the person from 6 mos ago, 2 yrs ago. Unless I go out and purposefully get photos for the site (which was NOT the intent afaik) and get releases in real time.

But a release won’t address any of the concerns raised (illoggical, though they be). And honestly, you dont need a consent for how the photos woudl be used would be used.

  4. She is 100% insane

  5. Not to worry Siobhan, your attorney will file a motion to suppress……………

  6. You do not need releases. Honest to god she is so STUPID. Do you think there are releases for city shots of parades, protests, etc. No. Of course not.

  7. Here is the “committee” that reportedly made the “no people allowed” decision:

    Seth Akar
    Richard Brooks
    Taryn Carroll
    Ashley Chauvin
    Bob Fuhrman
    Tim Graham
    Rurik Halaby
    Dylan Hansen
    Keith Kazmark
    Matthew Lindenberg
    Stacey Loscaizo
    Heather Mailander
    Kathryn Schmidt
    Deborah Steinbaum
    Angelo Thalassinos
    Janice Willett
    Siobhan Winograd

    1. Kiss A$$ Rurik Halaby is on this committee LMFAO

    2. A sad, sorry, and hopeless crew.

    3. The usual list of suspects…

  8. Hummm, it smells.

Willet does not live in town. WTF?
Carroll is Sonenfelds daughter. Double WTF

    1. Taryn Carroll does not live in Ridgewood. Recently purchased a house in Wyckoff. So double WTF . . . non-resident and Sonnenfeld’s daughter

  10. I don’t trust that Dylan Hansen. He walks around with that smirk on his face, another puppet. He can’t even come over here and wipe my ass.

  11. For the village website? The village made the right choice to omit photos of “identifiable” people. L

  12. Listen, I won’t trust anyone in upper management. It’s a dirty click. They think that they’re smarter than us. If they were ,they wouldn’t be working for the village of Ridgewood ,Would they. We got their number. We got prime investigators following their private investigators. And we got all the money and time so watch out,.

  13. Scammers.

  14. We will never trust anyone in upper management. They are fools. And they are so cheap.
