Police Recruit Scandal : Reader says Village Council showed a shear lack of ethics
Its not that simple. It not just like getting a regular job… you have a certain window of time that if they miss will jeopardize them getting the job at all.
Also the most important thing…. the offered them a promise of employment… they left …lost health care…. they went through extensive testing and purchased equipment all at the taxpayers expense. All of which the vc approved… that dosnt bother you?
Even if you could care less about the two kids. Your no appalled by the shear lack of ethics and responsibility the Village Council showed by doing this?
This is not the first time these three showed an lack of ethics. When is it going to stop? What will it take for the residents of Ridgewood to understand that the majority of the Council really don’t care about us. Just their vindictiveness and agendas
I’d expect them to get their jobs eventually when all the political dust settles.
“Eventually”. So that make all ok #2 ?
Hopefully the window is still
Yes its better than not getting the job.
Whats the big deal? Let them get hired after the others retired. Case closed.
(if they cancelled their other insurance and quit jobs before being appointed, that’s their problem. NEVER take anything in life for granted.)
It was 8 hours before the accadamy started…. are they supposed to be at two places at once??? And again it doesn’t work like that… its not just ohh wait .. are these kids supposed to survive 9 months without pay and insurance because the vc made s mistake??? That’s fair to you? Do you pay bills?
well one already failed the academy once and got a second shot, plus he didn’t quit his job since it’s already with the town. the second worked for the old chief at bcc, so he’ll be rehired in a heartbeat. plus its a conditional offer of employment, not a promise of employment.
i think they need to copy the fd’s ordinance, hire as many people as the chief needs with approval of village manager and council. done and done…
#7 you are incorrect, the recruit got injured at the academy he did not fail. Get your facts right before you make a post like that.
Sounds like the PBA and it’s supporters have been very active on this forum.
Village friends and family program.
Investigate the school hiring and you will find the same thing. There is no exam so you have to wonder how so many friends from a preschool playgroup are working in the schools together now that the kids are grown. Best qualified?
Well # 11 if you don’t like it run for office and change the law or are scared.
# 7 get you facts straights. The second candidate left his job at BCC 2 years ago and was working for a industrial design firm. A job in the field that received a degree in until they told he was going to the academy. So stop spreading your bull shit.
#7 you either don’t know what you are talking about or you are intentionally spreading mis-information, in either case you look real stupid.
#12. The BOE has a nepotism policy, loosely applied. It is the group of friends that were hired that I do not like. Their only interest in the schools is 10 month employment. None have any useful experience or aptitude/temperment to be aides. They just want an easy job with their besties.
