At least a dozen cars every single overnight without tickets on E. Ridgewood near Hope and Liberty.
…and they are all called in to the Police station every night… perfectly legal.
$20 says those cars aren’t called in religiously.
All of the side streets east of Doremus. Every night.
Enforced in my neighborhood. My neighbors received multiple tickets for being lazy about pulling cars into driveway at night. Not sure if there were complaints that prompted the tickets.
Definitely snitch neighbors.
Not enforced in my neighborhood.
Yes. Somebody ratted them out.
What about leaves? Any summonses issued? My neighbors routinely ignored the deadlines
Ha Ha.. Leaf Deadlines.
Absolutely silly rule instituted when families had only 1 car. Many smaller houses with a single car driveway makes it necessary to park in the street. In most cases, you cannot widen your driveway.
Another silly point is there is no street parking allowed on the streets near the park and ride on 17 due to residents complaining people park in front of their houses all day. That started over 40 years ago and kept expanding to more blocks.
you can park in the street in paterson
and Wadlwick
What’s is the purpose of that ordinance? Does that make any sense?
The purpose is to keep all the undesirables out of town
To facilitate street cleaning and snow removal.
Keeping undesirables out of town also keeps the streets clean.
Street cleaning? I havent seen one come down my street in years and I am on a main street. Twenty years ago, they came weekly.
Snow plowing.
How many days out of the year is snow plowing necessary?
If you have a 2 car driveway and can prove 3 cars or drivers registered to that address you should be able to at least pay for a permitted spot in front of your house for those hours.
or buy a house with a large enough driveway
a neighbor located in a street corner had a one car garage with a 1 car width driveway. So he had to park his 2 cars behind each other. He now went and expanded his driveway on the other street side (since he is in a corner) with a width of almost 3 cars. He cut a large part of his lawn and now has a 6 car driveway. Go figure. I don’t know how this is allowed.
Pretty sure the zoning restrictions start at 8” or so above the ground, maybe there is some other ordinance that would cover a driveway or patio or your percentage of bluegrass versus bent etc.
Village Enforcement and Administration sucks.
Neighbors have done this all day and all night routinely for years to accommodate their live-in servants because they don’t want to have to jockey the cars despite circular double driveway and three-car garage. Everybody has to drive around them. It is far more than annoying. At least once the town snow plow had to go around that spot in the middle of the night and ice remained there for weeks. Entitlement galore.
