Washington DC, President Trump officially nominated Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court  .The president revealed his choice at a Rose Garden ceremony on Saturday. Now the focus shifts to a looming confirmation fight that is expected to conclude with Barrett becoming the youngest member of a 6-3 conservative majority court.

The 48-year-old Circuit Court Judge  was nominated to fill the Supreme Court vacancy created by the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Coney Barrett graduated first in her class at Notre Dame Law School. If confirmed, this makes her the first Notre Dame graduate on the Supreme Court and the only justice who did not attend an Ivy League law school. She clerked for and was a protégé of late Justice Antonin Scalia. In 2017, President Trump appointed her to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals from her position as a law professor at her alma mater.

  1. This can’t be good for Democrats….
a judge who applies the law, not writes the law…

  2. She’s not going to get approved….Dems will never go for it…maybe he’s the sacrificial lamb and the real choice is the second name that Trump and Barr will submit…

    1. Dems don’t have enough votes, McConnel in going to jam her down their throats

  3. Arguably the most qualified person ever nominated for the Supreme Court
