the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood high school is flying the LGBTQ community’s gay pride flag for the month of June, raising it in a short ceremony to signify and spread a message of acceptance for all.
Tyler Clementi , a gay student at Rutgers who came to a tragic demise was an alumnus of Ridgewood High School.
The rainbow or Pride flag will fly above Ridgewood High School for the rest of June . June is LGBTQ Pride Month. Students, teachers and residents were on hand to witness the flag raising ceremony June 1.
The staff went by Ridgewood High School on Wednesday and unfortunately it was no where to be found.
According to several sources Ridgewood High School is the first high school in Bergen County to display the flag.
So at Ridgewood High School, we feel obliged to express pride about both a horribly immoral sexual lifestyle AND the diabolical insanity of self-murder. Did any of our administrators try to think this through? The RHS graduate in question is not a modern day George Washington. His choices in life did not render him worthy of a month long annual celebration.
The comments on this blog in the last couple days regarding the rainbow flag are particularly horrible. Commenters here are always horrible, but these are way over the top.
We should also have a month-long flying of a flag for veterans. And another for active armed service members. Those who serve so that we can all live our lives in freedom.
Honor Heros
I agree 9:03. Shame on you 8:19. Shame on all of the negative commenters. Your comments only highlight the struggles LGBTQ people face.
So racist and bigoted, humiliating minority LGBTs.
Where are the brown and black stripes. Why does ridgewood public schools hate minorities? Shame.
So a flag was put up but somebody stole it? Confusing.
Right… if you don’t tow the liberal PC line, you are branded and outcast… Does ANYONE ELSE see the irony here?
But then again, the fascist Gay lobby has always been exclusionary.
