Details of The Valley Hospital’s new expansion proposal were unveiled and touted Tuesday night by the applicant’s experts as a significantly scaled-down version of the original Renewal plan, but many residents and some Planning Board members are already raising red flags.
Though more than half the seats inside the Benjamin Franklin Middle School (BF) auditorium were unoccupied, this week’s board meeting marked the beginning of what is expected to be a contentious public hearing. The hearing will continue Tuesday, April 16 at George Washington Middle School, a smaller venue than BF.
The hospital is requesting changes to the 2010 H-Zone amendment to the village master plan which would essentially permit a 910,000-square-foot expansion and facilities upgrade. All proposed improvements will take place on the 15-acre site that directly abuts three residential streets and BF at its northern border.
Thanks, for the highlighted LINK but, it needs to be corrected I believe… the missing l needs to be added….so it can be shared.
During the presentation the valley paid representatives frequently compared 2010 to 2013. There was no comparison to the present buildings. When a resident asked for a third column on the power points which would show a comparison to the current site, ‘Mr. Nalbantian said he did not see the need. I for one see a great need to deal in the reality vs. the dream.
