Reader says , Thanks NJ for killing one of the few remaining good things about NJ (low gasoline prices)
.
Thanks for moving NJ’s gasoline tax
From the 2ND LOWEST state gasoline tax in the USA (49th place)
To the 7th HIGHEST state gasoline tax
.
thanks

If these morons had half a brain, the would find ways to LOWER gasoline prices and increase consumption.
This would:
– increase overall gasoline tax revenue
– increase business (which brings along increased job employment and increased spending) – resulting in even more tax revenue for the state
– result in happier residents and taxpayers who get to spend and save more money and enjoy their lives more.
.
too bad resident’s pursuit of happiness is not on the agenda for NJ politicians.

  1. Just one more reason to leave!

  2. Ha ha ha. Governor Christie just fucked the rest of you the same way he fucked all of NJ government employee workers by screwing with their pensions. So much for your hero you “taxed to death” morons.

  3. Do not love Christie but he was not the only guy who messed up the pension scheme. Started long before he took over. He did make more payments than the others. Need an audit of all the government jobs – probably lots of fat to be cut with appointed positions, etc. Poor little guy worker bees suffer because some public employees really exploit the pension system. Yep, the gas tax hits people hard and one more reason to get the hell out of this state – two more years if not sooner.

  4. 1) Create a gasoline tax partially goes into a transportation fund
    2) Raid pension funds to balance state budgets
    3) Same as #2 using the transportation fund money
    4) Claim we have a transportation fix crisis
    5) Raise taxes to replenish transportation fund
    6) Go to #3

  5. This is a Dem core issue, supported by spineless Republicans signed off by an Obama hugging governor

  6. The moment Christie is out of office the Democrats will raise the sales tax again
By ignoring the estate tax, plenty of us will be bailing out of here along with our spending
