When I call the Ridgewood Police for an emergency I don’t want to be put on hold because of a large incident thats is taken place in another town. Maybe Sedon should do a little more research into what has happen in the past with Bergen County Dispatch and not fall for a sales pitch from a representative from the County . There are just as many municipals that are not going with the County Dispatch. Maybe Sedon should ask them? We all know what happens when the Village hires the lowest bidder. You get what you pay for. Next time your having a medical procedure may you should as for the lowest bidder. Let me know if you fell safe doing that. Finally your comment ” By the way since it’s offered by the county we already do pay for it with our taxes.” This service is not. There are extra charges that go along with that service its not free.
We are already a part of a regional dispatch center and its called NWBCD. The service is just as bad if not worse than county dispatch center except the fact that we pay more money as a host town then we would if we go to the county. Ridgewood has not had its own dispatch center or 911 center since 1994. The cost of such an operation is making it less likely to continue as the county gets support from the state via 911 cell tax revenue.
I recently tried to get Bergen County PSOC to provide a 911 call I made as well as an associated video, both of which would have helped prove a case of corruption and fraud against Bergen County Sheriff’s Officers. It turned out they have a policy of quickly deleting calls and videos to protect against accountability for corruption and fraud, and to my astonishment, it turns out these practices have full support from the Bergen County judicial system. Ridgewood should disassociate with the county in every way possible.
