Reader says Mayor and Council should talk directly to the Village Workers

The union’s are not the problem. the problem is the mayor and council don’t talk to the worker’s who do the day to day work. the problem is the top manager’s are bull shit’in you about a lot of things that are going on in town.

If the mayor and council care about this town like they say they do then they will have a meeting with the work force only. NO MANAGER’S . you need to hear the truth. no bull shit story’s. the top brass all they care about is what they are going to get if they cut worker’s. set up a meeting and the worker’s will show. all I can say is if the council has a meeting some people will be pooping right out side the hall way. I know i talk to the worker’s all the time when they pass my home. do it Mr. Mayor.

  1. sounds like a great idea. maybe a meeting with the mayor and council would could bring some good ideas how to help with the budget problems. but thats just not the way things are done in the village.

  2. Dangerous advice to take here….
Just talking to an employee is not the road to take.

Council Members are already doing that and have those facts but to take action requires Village Manager’s support.

  3. yo number 2 what are you trying to hide ??? Aronsohn OWES THE UNIONS BIG TIME , HE BETTER LISTEN !

  4. The problem with employees talking to council people is the possibilty of reprisal an employee talks to a council member in good faith it gets back to a boss and the council person quits or gets voted out, the boss is still there and no councilman to help the worker

  5. to # 4 yes that may be a problem. so then we need to have a close door meeting just like the top manager’s have. it’s time union or no union town’s should have this kind of meeting’s from time to time. it just may help the all town’s to save some money. it may be a good thing. and to # 2 why would it be DANGEROUS U SAY. it’s just a close door meeting . It may be a danger for you because the truth may come out about a few of you
right. It sound’s like you are one of the problem’s in town. your post say’s it all . are you a bit scared for your job because you are showing it to all of the tax people in town.30 years a go they had this and it worked as a tax payer I like it and yes have the meeting’s with all the village work groups.this should of bin done a long time a go. all village dept’s work to keep this village a great place to work and live. people move into this town not just for the school’s. the service’s play a big part into it.

  6. #5 the idea is great, as long as the fallout does’nt land on the little guy like it so often does. Whatever can be done to improve the situation at village hall should be considered. The sit rep there is so bad it’s well known throughout other towns it’s a real shame.

  7. THIS SOUNDS GREAT. this shows the work force cares about the town! this is a very wize move. ford just did this a last year, and lee iacocca did this in the mid 80’s and it worked. any good manager should all ways talk to the worker on the ground level. like they say we all have some thing to learn from some one. this good old thinking. I know we have a lot of older workers that been in town for a long time, we have a few that’s been around from the 70’s. who would know more then they. that is a lot of time. I’m sure we can learn a bit from people like that. as a long time village’er this is the best new’s I herd in along time. good for all of you work and talk together. as long the mayor and council care. we don’t need to waste any one’s time. this must be done council. I do know some of the old time mayors and a few council members would talk to the workers in the past. thank you from the people of the viilage.

  8. Paul Aronsohn is a union bug! When push comes to shove he will go with the unions work boots and all.

  9. the mayor hasn’t shown that yet seems he’s distanced himself from the uninons now that the’ve become so unpopular.

  10. people this is not about union’s. this is about village worker’s in all group’s talking to the council and mayor and the staff don’t need the manager’s support. end of the story. and the top brass is not invited.

  11. you know if the mayor and council took care of the village staff like they should they would not need a union. the police the fire all way’s had a union. why is that. well because they never trusted the top people. why is it all the time a problem.

  12. Yes you can say that again #11 but there have been too many problems in the past to get away from that now espacially since the last handshake deal between Gabbert and the pba went down the tubes. Gabbert and the pba agreed on a lowering of the initial salary to enable the town to hire 4 more patrolmen 2 were hired 4 were passed over one of whom was the current chief’s child the other child was hired along with another person who finished below the chiefs son. Regardless of who got hired the number was 4 to be hired and only 2 got got job’s. You cannot expect to do buisness with a man like that without everything being in writing, managers like him cause Labor disputes and generate the need for Lawyers.

  13. yes you are right. we can not trust him. his track record is not that good. that’s said. look what he did in west wood.

  14. His tenure there was a disaster he ended up suing them for his job back and then left anyway. I heard he was the old councils third choice.
