Reader says no way to alter Village Master Plan without overwhelming the Village’s infrastructure

The fact is that our Council and Planning Board are considering changes in the Master Plan to accommodate special interests. Valley Hospital = Special Interest. Real Estate Developers = Special Interest.

When will our Village Planner, our Council and our Planning Board step up and show some vision and leadership at such a critical time?

There is no way that every special interest group with a plan before the town can get their way without overwhelming the Village’s infrastructure. I’m not suggesting that we build nothing in the CBD or that Valley not modernize at all – just build and expand within what’s outlined the existing (pre 2010) Master Plan.

  1. OFF TOPIC – Does any one know what was going on in The Lawns last night around 1am – 2pm? There were swarms of police cars everywhere in th Lawns and along Grove, South Pleasant just north of Grove????

  2. The “Master Plan” was barely finished when the exceptions began pouring in. Stick with the plan. No changes for business interests.

  3. Get parking issue finally resolved, sit down with the landlords and help negotiate some reasonable rents, put Valley and other CBD projects on hold, and then go from there.

It’s called getting your priorities straight. And doing it before the whole thing comes undone would be a really good idea !

  4. Valley, has wasted too much time already pounding this town until they get what they want.

Just say “NO” and make Valley go away.

They can build in Paramus. They have plenty of room and options. No one talks about this?????

Keep Master Plan and H Zone in place.

Enough, they lie about healthcare being ample without HPV and now say the opposite. They are Liars and will bring much harm before, during, and after any construction.

Renew inside an become a Community Hospital again. Fix broken bones and deliver babies. No one in their right mind is having anything else done here…Okay, X-rays too

  5. Outside of wasting an awful lot of the PB’s time, and making money for the lawyers and “experts,” they have managed to insult the intelligence of an awful lot of people in this town. This application by Valley, if approved, will be minimally beneficial (just like it is now) to the residents, and will certainly do more harm than good both during and after construction. It’s that simple.

I would love to hear just one supporter try and make a case giving more positives than negatives for the residents of Ridgewood, not Valley, Ridgewood.

  6. Dead on balls accurate #2, #4, and #5…Valley has been and will become more of a burden to all taxpayers and people of Ridgewood. Who in their right mind is supporting this beside those vultures feeding off Valley’s millions? Not for Profit, what a joke. Wait, if you P\pay nothing (taxes) then Valley should get nothing! Obama Care will get us we don’t need Valley too.

  7. If someone can explain why it makes sense to consider changing the character of an entire town to accommodate the “wants” of a few, an awful lot of people who actually live here would love to hear it. This has become less about keeping up with changes in healthcare and more about egos and high paying jobs.

Let’s face it, they can remain a good hospital by coming up with a plan that makes sense for the space they have. They just don’t want too.
