high density housing

if you do not want anything built in the Village how do you propose that Ridgewood meet it’s state mandated COAH (Council on Affordable Housing) obligation ? All of the proposed developments will have a set-aside for affordable housing. If the private sector does not provide it then Ridgewood must…..and.they will do it using your tax dollars.. Time to get real.. Something is going to get built regardless of all the yapping you and others do.. One way or another trees will come down and cement will be poured.

  1. Ridgewood needs to band with other towns to fight these requirements. We simply can’t afford them and they are pointless. What is the use of this housing if the structure and the fabric of the towns will be destroyed? Who is going to be able to afford to live in a town like Ridgewood as our taxes go through the roof to pay for more students in our schools.

Total failure of this Village council to address these issues.

  2. As soon as this yr, I hear all 4 projects are to start soon and complete this year. We will finally become a real town. My liberal neighbors who always look to meet new people will have a lot of new residents to introduce themselves to.
I met yesterday someone who lives in another area in NJ. He fondly remembered when he last saw Ridgewood a few years ago with the tree lined streets in and around CBD. I invited him to come over in about a year from now to see the new thing.

  3. 9.49 . I believe it is too late for this. I have always been left in shock with regards to lack of protest by RW population on this. For many of them who are leftist at heart it is easy to not care as they see it as something for “the greater good”. Fair Housing is bullying all these towns into oblivion with their blunt requests. Bergen County but more importantly Ridgewood is heading down the drain. Affordable housing, LBGT “rights”, tax increases, diversity, sanctuary state etc. are all part of the same agenda.

  4. 1131 – – I hear you, and perhaps I am a Goldwater conservative about to go down in flames, but it seems to me we shouldn’t give up the fight.

  5. Current counsel should be fighting for us and they never do, they side with the developers and use any excuse to hide behind. #ITSneverOURfault

  6. It’s very important that the building department and zoning enforce proper landscaping greenery. Making a pleasant atmosphere. Man
