Reader says Ridgewood High School has been languishing at the 26 position for years now

RHS

RHS has been languishing at the 26 position for years now. In a state the size of NJ this is not good. Real progress would be moving higher the ranks but it hasn’t been happening. What’s up with Willard, why does rank worse than the other elementary schools of RW?

  1. More than likely the rankings are warped or distorted in favor of statistics RHS can’t or has chosen not to compete in. It’s all about the specific criteria and the weighting attributed to individual criteria, the selection of which is subject to whims or fads. Some real estate agent in the town of the top high school probably devised the rankings to produce that result.

  2. The first report was that Ridgewood was 50th. I guess with the removal of all the private schools ahead of them Ridgewood managed to claim 36th. Years ago Ridgewood didn’t concern themselves with any state rankings as they were always in the top of the national rankings. Now we practically pull fingernails to even get to a mighty 36? in the state.

  3. Exactly 1:18, we spend over $100 million on our public schools and RHS is now ranked #583 nationwide?!?!! Used to be one of the top public high schools in the whole country…
