Let’s be very clear about this, this is all about the money and the greed of the REA and their full-time paid lawyers and lobbyists from the NJEA. They are trying to squeeze more blood out of Ridgewood taxpayers for what are already among the most expensive teacher salaries and health benefits in the entire nation That’s right, we pay $100M a year for our public schools in a Village of 25,000 people. If they don’t like paying for their health benefits then they are welcome to get a job in the private sector or another school district.

The BoE must not roll over here despite the threats, bullying and personal and vindictive attacks they are facing from the REA/NJEA. As Bob knows personally, these bullies are not negotiating in good faith, they are trying to squeeze as much as they can from taxpayers. The education of our children is the furthest thing from their minds.

  1. Brogan is a Chrustie-style bully. Pure and simple

  2. Brogan is a Christie-style bully. Pure and sumple

  3. There’s a limit to everything and we the taxpayers have reached out limit..more than 100 million..that’s our Limit..if those teachers don’t like it then let them go to the City and fight like the rest of us 12 months a year at a job that lets us pay for your Salaries and outsized benefits,Enough is an easy word to comprehend.,,Enough..

  4. Tell the union thugs to stake a hike. As for our well paid teachers the ride on the gravy train is over welcome to reality.

  5. Apparently teachers think free healthcare is their right. Just stop.

  6. Gravy train over – now!

  7. H. Kiernan, Brogan is not the bully in the room. She’s doing her job representing tax paying Village residents. I’m sorry if you think that is bullying, but frankly the REA and NJEA have bullied Ridgewood taxpayers for years without much pushback, and we’ve reached our limit. We should not be subsidizing Platinum health plan benefits for teachers. If you want those plans, pay the extra premium yourselves. Pure and simple.

  8. Brogan is the one who bullied the Board into accepting the REA/NJEA proposals. She’s the one who, years ago, should have been pushing back. Now we’re paying for her errors

  9. Got it, understood now…. she rolled the last time, hopefully the Board is willing to withstand the vindictive personal attacks and harassment from the RE/NJEA, who are surely attacking board members relentlessly with threats, bullying tactics, and efforts to discredit them. The REA/NJEA really is a shameless union thug group.
