“There’s a very old, but wise, proverb “If the upper beams are not straight, the lower beams will go aslant.” Indeed, if society’s leaders set a poor example, the rest of society will follow. There is a clear absence of leadership on all fronts, these days. It’s almost as though the politicians, bureaucrats, and corporate exec’s are in on a secret, and it’s scorched earth and a race to the bottom.
It is sadly not just this country’s youth and young adults who are misguided, but a global virus propagated by the likes of George Soros and the liberal left, and perpetuated by the bandwagon elite, our so-called leaders . Why would’t our youth be outraged when they only have half of the essential facts that are being maliciously withheld from them?
Most of the youth you mention are taking a stand about what they believe is true, and have no idea that their actions are fueling harm against their own futures. The older generations who are old enough to know better are, at best, are practicing compassion without wisdom – stupidity. We shouldn’t blame the youth (those of whom are peaceful), but we should hold all of the political and corporate elders thoroughly accountable, for the Covid19 catastrophe, which was borne our of greed, and the equally harmful virus masquerading as “Social Justice”.”
The secret is that our institutions are on autopilot. The government is ran by technocrats who don’t look outside their silo and are unable to make decisions. The corporations are doing better due better controls, but are broadly misaligned against shareholder interests (e.g. short term profit vs long term success).
Trump and his allies have put a spotlight on this state of things. That is their purpose and main accomplishment. But it’s up to the American people to rise up against the incompetence in unelected leaders, in government and the private sector (we’re shareholders after all).
This fight will take at least a decade and I suspect it will be today’s kid’s who would unite and move the needle. I don’t see current gen of boomers having the will.
I am hopeful but doubtful.
This generation of kids is being taught pro-government dependency, anti-capitalism and much more that leave them in many ways unequipped to wage this battle.
“Trump and his allies have put a spotlight on this state of things. That is their purpose and main accomplishment.”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Words can take on many meanings; it is important to realize not everyone is talking the same thing when they say them. “Social justice” – as an example; I am not sure why the original poster chose to emphasize this phrase. I grew up in a house where Jesus was a role model of Social Justice. I don’t therefore see this as a bad thing.
@abcaxi Correct, but the term you hold so dear has been hijacked in recent years, which is why the OP presumably said “…the equally harmful virus ‘masquerading’ as “Social Justice”.
