“I think it is about time that these businesses take charge of their lives… I applaud them! Everyone needs to act responsibly – if you do not want to go out – than it is your
choice to stay home.. The knuckleheads idea to shut down the state for almost 3 mths was not a good one!! These businesses have every right to open – I support them… Be wise, act responsibly, take control of your own life! If you have to be told and constantly reminded to wash your hands than ask yourself – Who’s the knucklehead!!! ”
It’s funny, this comment likely comes from a public sector retiree – like a teacher or a cop – who voted in the the Dumbocrats in Trenton because their union told them this was good for their pension. Now that state and municipal tax revenues have been destroyed by the shut down, their unions have told them to say how bad it was to shelter in place during the pandemic and shut down the economy. Circular logic and abject greed.
Here come 10% NJ state taxes and a 10% Ridgewood property tax increase to pay for all of this – without a single cut in BOE or Village expenditures. Worst governance this once proud state and Village has ever seen! Bankruptcy is looming!
There he is the anti government worker nut job. I just love reading his conspiracy theory’s. They are so fucked up it shows you how fucked up his mind is……
James, you’re missing the point. The shutdown was designed to ensure the hospital system was not overwhelmed. In that it was successful…for the present. Italy was not so lucky. Many ill people made it to the hospitals but died before they could be examined.
lock down had no effect , just killed a lot of old folks
Apparently you have the attention span of a gnat. Your response Is unreasonable James!
We should be receiving money from the federal government. We follow their guidelines now it’s time for them to reimburse us.
Good luck with that. Trump and his AG Barr are paving the way for municipalities and eventually heavily indebted blue states like NJ, CA and IL to restructure their liabilities through bankruptcy proceedings. Only way to keep the pension funds solvent!
