Ridgewood NJ, Long time resident suggests what the Ridgewood blog suggested some years ago and was barraged by disparaging comments from friends of Tommy Rica .
“I care very much about this village and I never felt we needed this parking garage. I own properties in the the downtown and I do not feel burdened by a lack of parking or the need for much more parking.
Furthermore I hardly ever feel I can’t quickly and cheaply (compared to NYC) find a parking spot on the block I’m going to, and I’m in town every day.
My suggestion though to the village fathers would be to go to a Muni Meter system as we use in NYC. The cost savings would be tremendous… Less maintenance and I think most people pay with a credit card… So needless to say we wouldn’t need to worry about a half million $$$ in quarters disappearing!”
Obviously if you have been downtown lately, you must have noticed the little green stickers affixed to our existing meter-heads. That is because now, you can park anywhere in the central business district, using credit cards, phones, coins, or the incredible app.to park! And, you don’t have to walk to another location to get a piece of paper to leave on your windshield…
We have had for awhile now. It is amazing.
The village likes to make peoples lives inconvenient, this seems to be the best thing that they do.
I will *never* pay 35 cents for the privilege of paying for parking in my own town and another 35 cents to add time, which has ALWAYS been a violation here, but somehow dropped conveniently when these stupid meters came along.
No parkmobile for me. Won’t pay the extra tab. Don’t trust hackers, not from parkmobile especially; from anywhere.
I really will not shop in Ridgewood if Parkmobile becomes only option.
Just bought a whole hog of XMAS presents at Depot in Midland Park. Big free parking lot and really lovely one of a kind gifts.
Eat your heart out Ridgewood, and I’ve lived here for decades.
I stopped using the post office here due to the pay meter. Since I go on lunch break I also buy lunch but not here
The post office 12 min park and mail shud be unconstitutional
Site has no mail user citizen parking.,I am sure it’s great for the meter maids making quota that day.not even a drive in drop in mailbox Shute

Has Tommy Boy paid any of his court mandated restitution to the Village? Not the pension and accumulated leave he lost as a result of stealing from the Village and betraying the public trust, but has he actually been making payments to the VoR? James, any idea? Can Rpberta update us?
I am outraged even more…
