The three of them absolutely do not care if they broke a law. Here is a DIRECT QUOTE from Pucciarelli from last Wednesday
“Maybe we’re breaking the law, but it’s not a good law.”
This is a perfect quote, demonstrating without question that the Deputy Mayor needs to be retired from public office ASAP.
Public figures are not at liberty either to violate the law, or blithely leave the impression that they are flouting the law. If a Councilmember thinks a law is bad, they should act to bring about a change to the law, not simply break it in an act of contempt to demonstrate how bad it is!
Yes, our deputy mayor, who happens to be a LAWYER (something he loves to remind us of every other minute) has that little respect for the law. Listen to him on the U-stream. Who would believe that a lawyer would say this? Who would believe that an elected law-maker would say this?
Disgusting, despicable, disgraceful, disingenuous, dastardly, damnable. The three of them stink.
What if anything will happen?
No need to do anything “he says, you say, they say,” is just conversation in the wind.
The deputy mayor does not need to be retired from public office for disregarding and disrespecting the law. He needs to be removed, and lose his law license.
No re-election, for starters…
This is not the first time he has made a statement like this. He also said the the ABC law were antiquated when discussing BYOB laws because some business in town want to serve hard liquor with out a licenses.
Rurik where are you? How about you Dom or maybe Jim Griffen any comments? Nothing to say?
what was the context of the comment??
Context is stupidity.
hey all and your crew are done in may, time for all new, and all the one’s who came in with you will go sailing.
That comment really does capture the attitude of our Council majority. Rules are for others. And if we think you broke one we’ll publicly humiliate you – just ask anyone that has ever disagreed with any of them. While I don’t wish jail time on these 3 knuckleheads it would be satisfying to see them get some sort of comeuppance.
Does anyone remember that Pucciarelli personally penned a resolution in which (among other things) the use of any electronic communication was prohibited by elected officials during a public meeting. Then when it became obvious that the three of them were busy texting and emailing during meetings, a member of the public asked about it at the mike. Lo and behold, Hauck, Aronsohn, and Pucciarelli all openly admitted that they do so when they deem it appropriate. Pucciarelli said he has to hear from his family. Huh? Aronsohn said his wife texts him. Hauck said she forgets to turn her phone off.
Once again, disregard for the law whenever they feel like it. And this was a law, that Pucciarelli wrote!
