Readers Question Ridgewood Leaf Collection Especially in the Somerville Area

leaves1_theridgewoodblog

Speaking of nonsense, isn’t about time the village fixes the leaf collection problem….?
I drove to the Y tonight and it was laughable trying to sneak around piles before the driver on the other side of the road tried to take the middle of the road before me.
Maybe I don’t know my ass from my elbow but why can’t we buy 2 of those leaf trucks with the vacuum hoses attached to the back and suck the leaves up all day long ?
There has to be a better way….

…..We have met the enemy to the village pocketbooks and he is US.
In summary ,a village still out of control on spending and fees/taxation and
rule harassment..leaves are a complete Joke in Somerville Walthery zone.
But two weeks back ticket hacks out 2weeks ahead of the planned SCHEDULED missing VOR leaf lifters..they can be late ,but we can’t lay a leaf in the street..Tyranny…

  1. It’s a game of chicken to see who can get past the leaf piles first….I’m hoping for snow today because then the piles will be ‘removed’.

  2. 8.30 leaves in curbs awaiting late scheduled towns pickup are then just plowed back onto our sidewalks by the devils brigade.a frozen sloppy mess. 5 years back there were frozen christmas trees in the leafy iceburgs ..evil memories weather and late pickup related

  3. The single operator leaf vac the Village purchased last year hasn’t worked since the day it was purchased. Tens of thousands of dollars wasted. And typical of the Village, they let the warranty lapse before notifying the manufacturer there was a problem.

  4. I don’t understand. I see other towns using them with no problem. Or are these machines being sabotaged just to keep more DPW works employed
