Readers say Chief Ward deserves an Apology by Mayor Aronsohn, the Deputy Mayor and Councilwomen Gwenn
First I am glad that our new manager had the decency to announce that Chief Ward had been cleared of any wrong doing by the prosecutor. I am once again disappointed that the council sat in silence with no apology from Mayor Aronsohn, the deputy mayor and Gwenn. # 6 you are so correct, I watched the two council meetings and I am appalled by the conduct of the mayor and deputy mayor, not to mention our concerned citizen. The concerned citizen was clearly reading off a script, which seemed to mirror the deputy mayor and mayor’s inquisition.
That left me with questions as to where our concern citizen got his information from Hmmmmm.
It is also very interesting how the council and our concerned citizen did a complete reversal after the Chief requested an investigation by the prosecutor’s office.
Funny how some of the people most vocal about tolerance and respect are the ones repeatedly trashing others.
With the public trashing of their professional reputations and what has now been shown to be false accusations against Chief Ward and Heather Mailander, I would not be surprised if there is not another lawsuit against our fair Village thanks to the actions of certain council members.
#1 Are talking about the retired police officer who now work in the Village driving a garbage truck?
Who might that be ? And is he still armed ?
And a pension of (Ridgewood Village): $107,938.
Dom don’t play stupid.
Hey Dom you could watch it on the Village web site. I don’t think the minuets are post yet.
How much does he get paid for driving a garbage truck for the Village?
Is it right that someone can retire from Ridgewood PD and get a job in another department?
No one else applied for the job?
107K pension and he’s wrkg as a maintenance employee… Jeez. Where is the shame…?
Speaking of shame, I don’t agree with the hirings of Ward and Killion’s sons as PD officers.
There’s got to be some control over that situation.
With all of their contacts in Bergen Cty they couldn’t land jobs for their kids in other towns…?
Back on the kids again ?
Speaking about that #3 his son also work for the village in the same dept.
Anything to say about that.
Don’t wait for an apology from this Council. It will NEVER happen. And don’t wait for an apology from AP’s best man from wedding #2. That will never happen either.
The residency rules limit who we can hire, and lead to lots of legacy hiring. Most of the hires move out of Ridgewood after a few years anyway, so limiting who we can hire through the residency requirement means we get people who look, act and think like their fathers. It does nothing for diversity, and limits the ability of the organization to evolve beyond what has gone before. Not good for the long term viability of our public safety if employers just see it as their birthright, and don’t bring any new outside the box thinking.
ANybody can rent a room, register to vote, and become a resident, then take the test.
Correct, the Minutes of January 29 are not posted yet. Albert and Paul are seen at their VERY WORSTso it is suspicious that the Minutes are missing. The ustream is up, you can watch and hear them in action, and you can be proud of (almost) all the fellow citizens.
