Readers says ; Valley Hospital A community hospital that sues the community it is serving
Want a laugh — see the below from Valley’s website:
“As a not-for-profit hospital, Valley is committed to giving back to the community.”
“The Valley Hospital is proud of its history of … community service ….”
“We are privileged to collaborate with and serve our … community ….”
“We will remain committed to … responsiveness to community needs ….”
So in line with these goals in mind, Valley has decided to file an expensive lawsuit against the community as a way of giving back to the community, adding to Valley’s history of community service and collaboration and responsiveness to the community???
What hospital people approve this sciocchezze ? I would like to know who are the directors because maybe they dont know what they are doing and we should write to them. I dont understand why manager makes so much money if the hospital is not for profit. I dont care for lawyers, most will argue wrongs for money. Maybe the directors just follow what that lady and lawyer tells them but maybe people who are well paid just do what directors and lawyers want. This is town, not city. We pay alot of tax and they pay none. I would like to tell directors to think more about the troubles they cause this nice town than just think about being big and making more money . They are suppose to be non profit not greedy. It is not good that they show no respect for the values of our townspeople and town leaders.
Well said.
Well said! Valley Hospital is a big liar. Valley wants to stuff a monstrosity down our throats, making us bear the brunt of years of construction, pollution and danger—yet it claims to “serve the community”. Now Valley is suing us, for the second time, because the Planning Board saw the ludicrous plan for what it was.
Valley claims “inherently beneficial use” for the region, yet did everything in its power to block the reopening of Pascack Valley, a hospital used by Westwood and area residents…
How can Valley spend at least $54 million to acquire roughly half a dozen sites in the village and in neighboring Paramus over the past few years, as well as pay multi-millions to its CEO, and not offer to pay for municipal services like police, fire, leaf and snow removal, etc ?
What does sciocchezze mean?
#3. I don’t want the village to take any of Valley’s money. PILOT fees are just legalized bribes. I don’t want to be beholden to the enemy.
I do, however, think it’s a great idea to take the money Valley gives the BOE and use it to fight the lawsuit. Will never happen, but the irony would be nice.
