So How Many Quarters is $460,000 ?
Readers weigh in on “Coin Gate “
One reader says let’s do the math;
$460,000 over 25 months
25 months = 760 days
760 minus weekends = 544 days
544 days minus paid holidays = 524 days
524 days minus 3 weeks vacation = 494 days of work in 25 months
1.8 million quarters divided by 494 days = 3643 quarters per day!
If $100 in quarters equals 5 lbs, then $1000 = 50 lbs,
then 3643= approx 180 POUNDS PER DAY!!
But feel free to check my math.
Either way, this is WAY too much to be a one person job!
but some differ in their mathematical
To put this in perspective, and bearing in mind that $100 in quarters weighs 5 pounds, taking $460,000 in quarters requires carrying 31.5 pounds out of the building every single day. If he didn’t go to work on weekends or holidays, and was there 250 days per year, he’d have to carry out 46 pounds a day. If he missed a day, he’d have to carry out over 90 pounds, more than a sack of cement. You don’t put that in your pants pockets and converting that many quarters to cash would be a full time job by itself.
most think that he didnt act alone
The question is who is going to be held accountable hard to believe no one picked this up!
I think the person in charge was Gabbert and he’s gone.
no one said he did once a day. he was seen going in and out at night time to. remember he had the keys. did he have help, may be.
And now he works for his brother who is a sub contractor on jobs for the Village. Crazy
3643/4=$911, so the estimates pretty much match.
3643 quarters=$910.75/day
If $100 in quarters = 5lbs, $910.75 in quarters=45.5375 lbs
to # 2 yes he was the manager, but he was receiving all his info from john spano. thats why the doctor gave mr spano the biggest raise of all out of all the work force.
how much of a raise.
1.8 million quarters divided by 494 days = 3643 quarters per day!
If $100 in quarters equals 5 lbs, then $1000 = 50 lbs,
then 3643= approx 180 POUNDS PER DAY!!
then 3643= approx 180 POUNDS PER DAY!!
survey says: X
assuming 494 days (reasonable assumption): $460,000/494 days = $931/day
Let’s round to $1k…that’s 50 lbs/day
3643 x 5.7grams (weight of a quarter) = 21k grams
21k grams = ~50lbs (454 grams = 1lb)
still ridiculous but you lose credibility when your data is wrong
How could anyone determine exactly how much was stolen?
It’s cash money.
He could have been cashing in quarters all over the state.
$460k is just what is being reported.
The daily accounting of meter collections must have been the responsibility of someone other than Gabbert. Who is that person? I assume the meters tabulate what’s collected and removed in a day, and if that doesn’t match what the collector deposits then that’s an easy discrepancy to see, unless the supervisor doesn’t look for 2 years. It’s ridiculous no heads are rolling for this.
yes, more then that Amount. And some one else new. And he is very quite .hummmm.
GABBERT NEW SHIT about the town. and he did not care too.
to # 12 yes we see that. he looks burnt out. the dog has his tall in between his legs.
so how much money do the parking dept take in.
#10 is right
more info will come out soon. its eating one person out from the in side.
