NEWARK, N.J. — Federal authorities have announced one of the largest narcotics seizures in the history of the state following a massive raid in Passaic County. Nankel Stuardo Solorzano, 46, of Clifton, New Jersey, now faces life in prison after law enforcement uncovered a staggering “stash” of deadly drugs and high-powered weaponry.

U.S. Attorney Robert Frazer emphasized the severity of the case, noting that the combination of illegal firearms and high-potency fentanyl represents a “deadly combination” that fuels violence across New Jersey communities.

The Seizure: Narcotics by the Kilogram

Following a targeted investigation, law enforcement intercepted Solorzano on April 17, 2026, as he attempted to access his drug supply. Court-authorized searches of his vehicle, garages, and apartment revealed a professional-grade trafficking operation.

The sheer volume of the seizure has shocked veteran investigators. Authorities recovered:

  • Over 40 kilograms of Fentanyl (enough to potentially cause millions of lethal doses).

  • 52 kilograms of Methamphetamine.

  • Over 2 kilograms of Cocaine Base (“Crack”).

  • Four Firearms: Including an AK-47-style rifle with a large-capacity magazine, a stolen handgun, and a 12-gauge shotgun.

A Resident’s Nightmare: Trafficking from an Apartment Complex

According to court documents, Solorzano operated this massive distribution hub out of a residential apartment complex in Clifton. The investigation successfully shut down what officials describe as a “sophisticated operation” that was flooding North Jersey with millions of dollars’ worth of illicit substances.

Severe Legal Consequences

The charges against Solorzano are among the most serious in the federal system. The counts for possession with intent to distribute carry a mandatory minimum of 10 years and a maximum penalty of life imprisonment. Additionally, the firearms charges carry mandatory consecutive sentencing, meaning the defendant faces the prospect of never leaving federal prison.
