Reminder : Train Station Pedestrian Tunnel Closed for Restoration from October 7 to End of October
Beginning on or about Monday, October 7 and continuing through the end of October 2013, the pedestrian tunnel at Ridgewood Station will be closed from all five points of entry (stairs and ramps) due to rehabilitation of the tunnel walls.
During this time, customers may use the stairs or elevators serving the Franklin Avenue underpass for access to and from Garber Square, Wilsey Square, North Broad Street and the center platform serving tracks 3 and 1.
Customers should allow for additional time during this time.
We regret any inconvenience and thank you for your patience
Seems like a long time to paint that tunnel. Why can’t they open it for the rush hours and work outside those times?
Hopefully they’re installing a urinal trough.
I was driving east on Franklin Ave. under the tracks at around 6:40 PM today (Tues. 10/8). A train had just arrived and many people were streaming out of the door leading to the sidewalk at the underpass. This created far more foot traffic, and more people crossing North Broad at Franklin Ave., than usual. The street crossing is wide there and we know how people have been driving lately. Please be careful, everybody, and cross at the green–not in between–or this brilliant idea to post ads all over the train station could end in casualties…especially as it gets dark earlier and earlier. If I were doing it, I would carry a little flashlight and shine it all the way across the street.
this is a good thing. that place is getting old and shity looking.new paint and cleaned up. now we just need to stop people from shiting in place, and stop the pee, pee on the walls.
