Rep. Scott Garrett not convinced that it is in the United States’ best interest to intervene militarily in Syria
September  1, 2013

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Scott Garrett (R-NJ), founder and Chairman of the Congressional Constitution Caucus, issued the following statement after President Obama decided the United States should take military action against Syria.

“Though I am glad the President is going to seek congressional authorization, as outlined by the Constitution, he has not convinced the American public that it is in the United States’ best interest to intervene militarily in Syria.  I side with the American public.  Our interests are paramount, and I’m disappointed that the executive branch has shown so little clarity in its decision making regarding Syria and how military action furthers our nation’s interest.”
